I did a search but couldn't really find any good info on this. I've got my first interview coming up and I'm planning on attending the social event the night before and was wondering what kind of attire is expected at these? just casual? or dressed-up a bit?

thanks in advance

Khakis and a button down are always a good bet. If not turns out to be more formal than casual, then tuck in the shirt. Voila!

Or just ask.

I think it's a little weird not to tuck it in. Also weird to walk in with your shirt untucked and then tuck it in the bathroom. But overall I agree with you.

Like a casual button down, not like a real button down.

Just please don't tuck in short sleeve button downs. Unless you want to look like Dwight Shrute.

A lot of the adult professionals in the office that I work in dress like that. I think it looks fine, you won't really look like Dwight unless your shirt is colored mustard.

So you're telling me you work on a beet farm?

If you wanna pull off the Dwight Shrute look, you can't forget the glasses. IMO, that's the most important part.
