Hi,

I was hoping I could get some opinions. I am currently accepted and enrolled to participate in a pre-matric program. However, I am also on the waitlisted at my top choice school. I just found out that I have to sign a contract for the pre-matric program stating that I cannot go to another school once I start the program (makes sense to have that contract since its a free program). The program starts in June and I could hear from my top choice about the waitlist up until class starts in august. Any thoughts?

I tend to gravitate towards a guaranteed thing. Unless you have great reasons for giving up on that (i.e. family/wife/kids), go with the pre-matric.

Reelsmooth,
I was in the exact same dilemma. I had to apply within 2 days for the Pre-Matric program but still wanted to hold out for another school just in case...
In the end, I went ahead and applied for the Pre-Matric. I think it still gives my other school a little window of opportunity to give me a call, although that window is about a month shorter now. But more than that, I really didn't want to pass up the chance at participating in the program because I think it's going to be a truly invaluable experience. You get the chance to settle into the city, get a feel for what school will be like, get back into the swing of studying difficult material (this is #1 for me), and get to meet some of your classmates and school staff early.

Soooo...I guess its really up to you. Do you absolutely want to go to your #1? Is that school really that much different than the one at which you are accepted already? Is tuition cheaper at your #1? If yes, then maybe you should hold out. If not, I'd say go with the Pre-Matric.
