Prelim- Chair Letter?

Do we need a chair letter if we are applying for prelim positions? I know for sure we don't need it for TY year, but I am not sure if we do need one for prelim positions. Let me know what you think.

Many, if not all, of the prelim medicine programs I applied to seemed to require a Department of Medicine/Chair letter. You should check the websites of individual programs or get in touch with their program coordinator if you have questions.
