i think its lingual nerve that supplies the floor of the moutj as it passes deep to mylohyoid and hyoglossus muscles which form the floor
i might be wrong.do lemme know

Does the lingual nerve supply the floor of mouth?
I doubt that,because it mainly supplies the tongue and not sure if any branches to floor [it is seen underneath the tongue even though it does go deep to hyoglossus before getting there].

Inf.alv.nerve supplies the teeth.

I too am confused with this question.I know the ans given is trigeminal.Can it be the long buccal nerve of it, or is it the inf.alv.nerve?

Could somebody plz explain this.Thanks

Guys, wait a sec, the question was buccal/alveolar mucosa of the vestibule correct.?

If its sensory innervation to the floor of the mouth then its lingual nerve without question.

Thanks skabbaraju for the reply.But still I'm in confusion-this question is in the I-M packet of ASDA as 1st question & the answer they have given is "trigeminal". So what cud it be?

Innervation to the buccal mucosa is the long buccal nerve, which branches off of the mandibular nerve, which branches off of the trigeminal nerve.

Innervation to the floor of the mouth is the lingual nerve, but the last time I checked there's no such place where there is an "Inferior buccal mucosa of the floor of the oral cavity."

A: Trigeminal

Exp: U see they hv asked the nerve supply of the buccal mucosa which is buccal nerve, branch of anterior div of mandibular nerve(which is a branch of Trigeminal nerve). Lingual nerve supplies the lingual mucosa n not the buccal mucosa. The confusing part of the question is that they hv mentioned the floor of oral cavity---> u see the floor of vestibule(a narrow area) is pretty much a part of the floor of the oral cavity. Floor of the oral cavity refers to all the area that forms the floor( includes the base of the vestibule). Check out the figure in the link n u can visualize it pretty well.
