Hey everyone,
so I am planning on applying this cycle and I looked at things to do to get a head start before the TMDSAS app opens. I looked at the section where you are supposed to report all of the classes, including if the class was a "regular" class or CLEP or Developmental...etc. and list what CATEGORY the class is in. I have THREE questions:
#1) I am trying to calculate my sGPA (BPCM)- I have taken two statistics courses taught by the math department (stats & Biostatistics) and college algebra, and all three should be listed towards this right? Also, I have taken a Nutrition course taught by the biology department at 1 school, and a class called Drugs & Society also taught by the biology department at another school. My question is, should I include these in my calculation? Something tells me I shouldn't because they do not REALLY fit the mold of the typical science class like cell bio or biochem. However, I should mention that under the Course Area Definitions (which you are supposed to list with each class), nutrition is listed under "Other Science". There is nothing even remotely close to Drug and Society, however.
#2) I took Neurobiology, Neurobiology lab, and Neurosychopharmacology all at one institution and all were taught by the biology department. However, for TMDSAS, neuroscience is listed under "other sciences" as opposed to biology. For the Course Area Definition, should I indicate biology or neuroscience?
#3) I went to two institutions for undergrad, 2 years at a CC and 2 years at a 4 year. At the CC, I took several science courses that were 4 credit hours because they included the lab as part of that credit hour. For example, on my transcript it reads, General Biology I and for credit hours it says 4, but nothing indicates that the lab was included. Same for General Biology II and both my Gen. Chem classes. Will the committee know that the lab was included since all these classes are always usually 3 hours or will I need to contact TMDSAS or type something specific so that they know. I would hate to be late and not be verified because of something like this.
Appreciate any advice. Thanks!
