This is a question that my brother had and I am not sure if anyone here may be able to help but I hope so. He is a high school junior looking to get into one of the Military Academy Schools (West Point or Annapolis). He told me, if I remember correctly, that after his four years of undergrad he would owe back 5 years plus 2 years reserves. His questions are...
1.) If he were to apply to and be accepted into a dental/medical school, could he attend right away or have to give his years back first?
2.) If allowed to go upon undergrad graduation, is accepted into a medical profession school, and decided to finance school by way of Navy/Army Health Scholarships, what is the total amount of years he would owe back? Would it be an accumulation of the two or some middle ground?
