Hi,I have always wondered, as uk medical school starts from high school, does it mean that their first year stuff in medical school is easier than north american medical schools? Or is their high school(A levels) harder than north american high school to start with? Can someone explain?

Its usually slightly easier, but not by much, mainly because most US undergrads don't learn much medically related stuff at all during undergrad, so US medical schools teach from scratch, but they likely teach at a faster rate.

A levels are slightly harder probably equivalent to APs in the US, but not significantly harder.

Thanks, that explains a lot, no wonder ppl are complaining that there is so much stuff in MCAT that is not really relevant to medicine.....
