Hi!

I wanted to reach out and see if there was anyone on this thread who attended UIC in Chicago.

I was curious about their thoughts on the curriculum, how they handled it, and if they were able to find a job out of state after finishing school there for residency or retail.

The web page says that 77% of the students who apply get a residency, but I wasn't sure if they meant 77% who apply to UIC's very own program, or programs outside UIC, out of state, etc.

In any case, I'm interested in seeing what the UIC alumni have to say! :)

Thanks!

Can't believe no body else has commented on this.

The good:
Excellent rotation sites
Strong curriculum
Caring faculty
Solid reputation for quality graduates
Top ranked research program
State school with lowered tuition
Wide alumni network
High Naplex and MPJE passing rate

The bad:
Cost of living
Neighborhood location
Older buildings (escalator always need repairs)
Hard to get in

X factor:
Resident program coordinator could increase residency spots at will if needed for UIC grads

Thanks Ornithoptor! I'm in the program now but as I've only completed the first semester, not all of this hasn't been apparent right away haha. Thanks again!
