So this may be a strange question.

I will start dental school this fall but I have not taken organic chemistry labs. I have already taken the respective lectures, and all the other general prerequisites for applying to dental schools. Would not taking organic chemistry labs negatively affect my applications when I apply to residencies in dental school?

No.

And if they do: You don't want to go to that residency or Its their subtle way of saying they don't want you.

That makes sense. I don’t know much about the application process for residencies but I assumed they’d focus more on work I did in dental school. Would you know if a majority of residency programs require Orgo lab, since a majority of dental schools would require it for applying?

Bottom line: Residencies won't care about organic chemistry lab from undergard.

Residencies will very rarely even glance at your undergrad transcript altogether, the one exception being some 6 year MD-integrated Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery residencies.

Taking organic chemistry labs is always a good idea--the more lab practice/work, the better.

In my opinion, a good compromise would be an online lab course that offers both a virtual organic chemistry lab as well as a hands-on lab kit where you actually get to make aspirin and chromatograph spinach leaves.
