"I have been dedicated to improving my application" would be correct.

Why don't you get it out of passive voice and say "I am dedicated to improve my application"? Active voice sounds better most of the time...depending on the context of the essay.

The one with "improving" is the correct choice. If you remove "dedicated to," it still makes sense.

This doesn't sound right to me.

"I am dedicated to improve my application" is NOT correct. But you could say "I am dedicated to improving my application". The point about the active voice is a good one.

Well, it's a matter of tense, isn't it? Not voice. "I have been dedicated" is present perfect continuous tense, whereas "I am dedicated" is present.

To make this particular phrase active, you could say, e.g., "I have dedicated myself to improving my application," which is an improvement because "I have been dedicated" makes the reader wonder who did the dedicating.

Points to liverotcod. I have been shown to be wrong...uh, I mean, I am wrong.

"I have dedicated myself to improving my application" sounds best to me. But out of your two options, "I have been dedicated to improving my application" is the correct one.
