I'm probably going to just stay at home - it's only an hour away on the weekend.

Although, if the annual Buffett concert at Alpine Valley clashes with that weekend, Buffett wins out, sorry. He usually plays that weekend, too, so I can't really make solid plans until March-April when his tour dates are posted.

It's a family tradition running almost 10 years now, that's why Buffett > OPM

I want to go home so badly. I have a nasty ole headache.. 🙁

However, I still have class from 2-3 and patients from 3:30-5:30, so no nap for me.

I have to admit that it scares me a bit. I don't want to spend the rest of my life miserable. But I guess I have awhile before I'll need to decide on anything and by then I'll have seen more medicine so maybe the decision will be easier.

You don't have to if you go into plastic surgery and cosmetics :d. You schedule everything, never have to be on call, don't have to worry about HMOs...or you could skip surgery altogether and just inject Botox for a [lucrative] living.

So don't rule out all surgery fields 😛

And Ana, what was the answer to the question about who has a good EM residency??

Also, A-man, that's extremely strange that there's no EM residency considering that Jackson is home to one of the busiest hospitals in the nation and more importantly one of the busiest EM departments. Very very strange.

Quick! Someone give me an idea for my paper next week (yes, another one)...name a cardiac or respiratory emergency. Make it interesting. No MIs or asthma.

pulmonary embolism
pneumothorax
various arrhythmias
aortic dissection/aneurysm

That's all I can come up with off the top of my head.

haha, i know. everyone else was doing it, so i had to comply. 🙂

how's school? i just had a chat at my last interview with someone who was heading to an interview at your school. thanks to you, i had lots of good info to share with him.

School's kind of crazy, but I'm managing not to drown, at least so far. I'm amazed that I'm almost done with my first year already.

How did your interviews go? I don't think I've talked to you since then. You were going to UAB and somewhere else. I forget where now. 😳

i went to UAB a few weeks ago, and then last week i was at UIC and UMDNJ. should hear back from all 3 in the next month. Then, I am going to U of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2 weeks.

UIUC will probably be my last interview, unless of course someplace someplace wakes up from their slumber and decides to invite me. stony brook is also still reviewing my app, so there could be action there as well. what a rollercoaster process!

Wow, that's great news. The last time I talked to you, you only had the UAB and UIC interviews. Are the other two MD or MD/PhD?

I just found out my student host is having three interviewees spending the night at his house tomorrow! 😱

Glad to hear the Randommes are surviving their respective rotations, classes, and interviews though!

I was just teasing him. UT-H has a really famous trauma surgeon (Red Duke) and I keep harassing A about coming here. Truth is he couldn't handle Texas :meanie:

What about you, Guju!? Any chance we'll see you come this way. We've got some great med schools/residencies 😍
