I should send you a PM sometime with a long really embarassing personal question and ask your advice.

Oh wait - I already did that once I think. :meanie:

They are currently planning the same weekend to my knowledge. The SDN conference planning is going very slow (unless things are happening behind the scene which I'm sure something is going on). But they were looking at beginning of June for various reasons. This conference will not be tied with OPM either (like one big conference)

Damn! The same weekend stinks!

Ok, I'm sorry then if I talked to someone about it that I shouldn't have. 🙁 😳

I mean the half of the pic is a crotch shot. It's not too hard to miss.

don't worry, BB...I noticed it right away...the first time I saw the pic. The freakin' connection is so slow that I decided not to post anything. I'm right there with ya, but it looks like you get to take all the heat! 😀

beary did you get your doc to phone in your scripts?

I called 3 times, couldn't get through, and left a message. So I don't know where things stand. Thanks for asking. Just something I don't need.

I am still stressing about that page I missed!! First week jitters I guess. 🙄

I have to present to the ID folks about mucor on Monday. I had to look up what mucor was. 😳 Going to be studying a lot this weekend.

I haven't read through all the pages (normally I do!) What happened at your baby's appt?

She has - drumroll please ....

a virus.

I could have told the doctor that. I was hoping he could be a little more specific. But she's going to be fine and that's all that matters. 😀

I'm glad to hear it. 🙂 Is she acting sick or is she just red?

i have a 6 hour "leadership" conference tomorrow at the course coordinator's house. totally not related to peds, its because i'm associate director of my academic society in school. damn it....... i soooooo would have liked to sleep in tomorrow.

i wouldnt stress missing the page too much, its your FIRST week. if anything just explain that you're sorry and that you didnt see it and didnt ignore it on purpose. glad to know you were able to call your doc though for the meds, i hope they call them in for you soon.

That conference sounds sucky. Just think about your vacation you're getting for it during it. 🙂

Thanks for making me feel better A-man. I stress about such silly things! 😉

trust me beary, i know what you mean by the stressing over the little things. we all do it. 🙂

That's great. Unsolicited advice - take as much time off during winter of M4 as possible for interviews. I only had off from Thanksgiving to Christmas and it was tight. I was basically flying somewhere every day then. It would have been nice to have say Nov 15 - Jan 15 or so off if possible.

did your clerkship directors give you time off to interview though? at my school most directors are very good at giving students a couple of days off to interview. depends on the rotation, some give more some dont even give that.

is this the older one oxeye or the baby?

The baby - well the almost one year old. She's almost not a baby! 😱

So what's your diagnosis A-man? (And this doesn't qualify as asking for medical advice on SDN because I already have a diagnosis  even if it is a lame one).

You start out feeling very achey (flu-like) for a few days with no fever. Then you feel fine but have red, splotchy skin (starts on the face, then goes to upper arms, then legs, then torso). Once the rash is gone, you feel muscle soreness, like you've worked out those muscles too much. I know the symptoms before and after the red splotchies because my husband and I had it first.

Any ideas?

How many places do people typically interview for residency?

Yeah, you're probably right. My situation was weird being MSTP I was doing core M3 rotations then, where they're not used to you going on interviews. M4s at your school will give you the scoop.

Arsenic said:
just dont let it take you away from sdn. :scared: 🙁

Oh that would never happen.

This actually is great because I can listen to it while I do SDN. I don't listen to music while I play WoW because I love the sound in the game.

ok, yeah that makes sense. from what i've heard from our 4th years since i've been here is that most senior directors are cool with it. the school even publishes a list of all the available senior rotations every year with how many days off each elective gives you for interviews.
