Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

With all that said, let the green flag wave! Boogity Boogity Boogity!!!

Beary, IOWA totally rawked out today. 8 goal line stances. Although they probably shouldn't have been in that spot anyway.

Yeah, I saw that!! 😱 I didn't see the game, but can't believe they went into 2 OT with Syracuse.

Next week: Nebraska @ USC! I am considering having all the path HOs over to my house for it. Does Nebraska have a shot? Probably not. 😳 But they do look better this year!

beary!!! 😍

Standardized patients, I want that job. Seems a you can make some side cash. My mom sent me an article about standardized patients and asked (joking) if I thought my dad would be good for it. My dad has multiple things wrong with him that no one has been able to figure out. One of the dating back almost 15 years the other a little over 4.

I am pleased to report that the shower in my apartment has both good pressure and good temperature. This is almost unheard of in my limited experience.

That's the one thing I always check out when looking at new places. That really is a make or break point for me. I stayed on campus all 4 years because the water pressure on campus was amazing.

That game would have been a lot different if Tate didn't go down

Hey Beary: I have sweet rolls in the oven. Want to come over for breakfast!? I can tell you more condom stories.
that sounds like a good breakfast. I really want to go out and get breakfast BUT since the man is on a weird sleep schedule I didn't come to bed till well after 3am, I don't see that happening this morning *sob* I think I just might go to panera and study for a little.

I STILL WANT MY EGGS BENEDICT!

How far will Texas drop you think?
Will the Cards break the top 10 with the FSU disaster?

I say Texas drops to 10 at most. Cards won't move much due to the fact that it was Temple, which is the equivalent of playing a HS team  but they might get to 11. I feel so bad for Temple, those poor kids lose so much it's ridiculous.

Penn State will drop out of the rankings 🙁

I really don't think Texas will drop that much. They're chronically over-ranked. I'd guess 8 at the absolute lowest.

Okay folks: I need to finishing getting my crap together to go to SA. I'll be gone/in class almost continually until I get back from IU on Thursday... I would appreciate update summaries every few pages so I don't need to read the bazillion pages I'm sure will emerge while I"m gone

Goood morning randomites. Sad news. I got a call from one of my best friends (was my matron of honor!). She has adrenal gland cancer. The tumor is the size of a golf ball, but looks contained in the MRI. She had a car accident last year and CT scans showed what looked like a hemorrhage of the adrenal glands, but her new urologist insisted on an MRI and realized it wasn't a hemorrhage after all.

She'll be going to St. Louis (Barnes/Wash U.) to get it laproscopically removed. She didn't really know much about it, especially since they haven't biopsied it, but her urologist said from her labs it's an inert tumor (not emitting any catecholamines or other hormones) but they're not sure if there if the cancer migrated from somewhere else or further metastasized. She'll have scans and such when she goes to STL. Her urologist said this is a 1-in-a-million type cancer.

She's taking it pretty well, but it's so surreal to her right now. She actually called me first after her diagnosis since I've been through this with the thyroid cancer.

Sucky news.

I hope you are asleep right now and don't get called! I always sleep totally crappy when I am on call.

Here's hoping that jlw had a restful night. 🙂

(Even after the fact I'm not going to use the q word)

thanks, guys! luck ran out, unfortunately.

like beary, I sleep like crap when on-call. so I woke up at 5:10am, thought "SWEET! I'm in the clear!" (since someone comes on in-house at 7am..). The phone rang at 5:12. 😡

looks like some of us will be getting a nap in later today! 🙄

Dude, there is ZERO chance that I would let a bunch of novices practice paps on me. I don't care how much money they want to pay me for it: ZERO CHANCE. :meanie:

Good luck, Ana! Not that you need it. 🙂

Whoa megboo, that is sucky news. I am so sorry to hear about your friend's diagnosis and her upcoming surgery. I am very thankful though that she has you to lean on- I am sure you will be a tremendous help to her! I will be praying for you both. Please let me know if there is anything I can do.

so sorry to hear this--but it sounds like she is a strong person and it's great that she has you there to support her. I hope the surgery goes well--please let us know.

Sup everyone. There was an earthquake in the Gulf of Mexico this morning and some people are telling me they felt it in Orlando. I wasn't paying attention...

Anywho, the F1 race was good. My team, BMW Sauber, got a podium finish. 3rd 😀 Robert Kubica's 3rd race and he gets a podium! Williams didn't do well at all 🙁

Michael Schumacher announced he's retiring after this season. There are 3 races left, China, Japan, and Brazil, in that order. He's 2nd in the driver's championship, 2 points behind the leader. Michael won today, got 10 points, and the points leader had his engine explode while in 3rd place. 🙁 The gap would've been 8 for him, now it's 2. I'm not a huge fan of Michael.

Yesterday's UF game was great. We won 42 - 0 over Central Florida. 😀 Next week is up at Tennessee. They almost lost to the Air Force so I don't think it will be that bad of a game for us. They were terrible last year.

Great show up by the greatest conference in college, the SEC.

Auburn (4) won 34-0
Florida (7) won 42-0
LSU (8) won 45-3
Tennesse (11) won 31-30
Georgia (12) won 18-0

Durden, you guys almost beat Alabama!

I'm off for now. Buccaneers are down 2 TDs. Then it's onto the Federer-Roddick championship match, then new Family Guy.

Just thought I'd make 1 more post after seeing the latest rankings from USA Today. 😀

4. Auburn
6. Florida
7. LSU
9. Georgia
17. Tennessee (LOL!)
24. Alabama

4 of the top 9 are SEC. GO SEC! GO GATORS!

cya everyone.

I am so sorry to hear that Meg. Please keep us updated on how she is doing.

I just said good-bye to my niece when I tucked her in for her nap. We both cried. She said she loves me so much it goes all the way to God and back. 😍 😍 😍

My brother is helping me load my car and then I'm out of here. Talk to you tonight from Ann Arbor.
