Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Can you explain the Cards logo to me? If I remember correctly, the Arizona Cards (NFL) got that logo after moving from STL, right? That's why the MLB team has the same logo. How did it get to KY? Or did it all start there? I'm surprised there are no trademark infringements since all see unrelated other than the logo.
The AZ cardinals logo had a more pointed beak. The logos are different.

Ahh...just did Google images. Your beak shows teeth.

Interesting fact though, companies have still been sued for trademark and tradedress infringements if the logo and packaging look *similar* and they dont' have to be 100% copies.

Long ass day yesterday.

Shadowing in the NICU was "da bomb". Only thing that is sad is my doc only had 4 patients in the morning so rounding was quick BUT ... by the time I left she had 9. I missed a code "pink" 🙁 I was hoping this patient would go into c-section as the baby's heart was fluctuating and hadn't really dropped yet even though the mother was fully dialated. But she had a "quick" birth soon after we left. Boo.

But the docs there are cool. This one doc I was with for a little was so cool because she explains EVERYTHING to me (and had some REALLY interesting cases). 👍

I really think this might be an area for me. Only downside is the 6 years of residency/fellowship. But afterwards you have so many possibilities 😎 Plus the babies just have some really cool physiology!

I also got some studying done in down time. Then I left and headed over to one of the labs I work at to meet with my PI about one of the projects. I finally got home after 10.5 hrs. I'm NOT used to the long days but the past few days have helped me adjust at least.

I've just been on pubmed all last night and this morning checking out some blogs. Now I have to wake up the hubby so he can mow the lawn :meanie: and get some studying done. 😀

*waves to everyone*

pediatrician! 😍

Yep 😀 😍

Its either that or take the easy way out and do ER but I don't think that is something I'm totally sold on.

I really liked some of the lifestyle bonuses of the NICU. It has its downsides but seriously I wonder WHAT the docs do sometimes. Its just "mainetence" and the nurses are so specialized and technical there that the docs don't do "much" else than round or see problem babies.

the pediatricians were nice to me, i got my grade for that rotation yesterday and read my eval. 😀

What's up Monday night?

BTW, LSU vs Auburn looks like a good game. Too bad I don't have time to watch it 🙁
monday night = steelers v. jacksonville! i dunno if that's what nikki is referring to, but that's certainly what's up for me monday night! 😛

thanks a-man! 🙂 how's it hanging? i haven't been keeping up with you randomites much lately.

i know, i've noticed. things with me are good, started family medicine last week which means i'm back to a regular schedule that starts at 9 and not 530. so nice.

how are you s&m?

loserville just scored a TD and is up now 10-7. we let them have that, its better to make them think they're doing well and then destroy them. yeah.... thats it. 😉

Go Michigan!!! Notre Dame, eat a d**k  27 - 7

Don't worry A-man, you guys will pull it out near the end. Your team always does that...
