Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

things are good here at someplace someplace, gonna read up on family med today and watch the hurricanes destroy loserville at 330.

:laugh: well they are VERY motivating! 😉

I've been swimming 3-4 times a week 👍 for more energy!

I probably won't go to the pool today - that would involve sacrificing my Saturday morning coffee. (no way.)

Get used to it. Things don't change once you get to med school. It only takes one person to find out, and then your entire class will know. And since some of your future classmates read SDN, the whole school is going to know.

People will forget about it after a while....when they start calling you by your board scores. :meanie: No, seriously, people are just curious about it. They aren't trying to be mean.

I don't think I've ever really had a nickname besides diminutives of my real name....

The comments I get are the funniest I swear. For instance:
"Seriously? You don't seem that smart."

Yeah, thanks. That made me feel warm and fuzzy. :laugh: I think they just meant that I didn't seem like an uber dweeb like you would expect with a score over 40 (just kidding, Q) At least that's how I'm taking it.

One guy was making fun of someone the other day and said, "Damn - she only took 1/2 the test and still scored higher than you." I thought that was mean but funny. (and I found out: now really true).

I get the same kind of responses, seriously. Like right after my scores came back, my PI (mentor for my PhD) says to me, "Q, I knew you were smart, but I didn't think you were THAT smart." And when I told my PI for my MS about it, he basically said the same thing. :laugh:

Your red shirt looked like a soccer one at first. I've never understood all the hype about the Kentucky Derby. Horse jumping shows I can understand. I've been to a few of those. I rather look at good looking girls than 4' tall guys.

Can you explain the Cards logo to me? If I remember correctly, the Arizona Cards (NFL) got that logo after moving from STL, right? That's why the MLB team has the same logo. How did it get to KY? Or did it all start there? I'm surprised there are no trademark infringements since all seem unrelated other than the logo.
