Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

With all that said, let the green flag wave! Boogity Boogity Boogity!!!

I doubt that would happen to you. Just be really humble (because a lot of people will assume that someone with your GPA and MCAT score is arrogant even if it's the furthest thing from the truth) and I think you'll do really well.

I think this is so true. I can see people on adcoms just having a field day rejecting cocky mcat/gpa superstars.

Think you're so cool?? BAM ....REJECTED!!!!

omg, the odds of that happening again are ridiculous. There had to be something wrong with that person

I think it was the lack of clinical experience and what jlw said.

Did you apply to UCSF?

Q had the exact same advice which won't be a problem in the slightest. A lot of my friends don't know my stats and I like that just fine.

No CA either though.

Ack, mine for Duke was a disaster. My Princeton one was some 80 year old alumni who spent over two hours recalling his great college exploits and pranks. Every other applicant was done in under half an hour.

That's so crazy, I never knew some colleges required interviews. Then again, I only applied to Penn State and NYU, and Penn State would require more interviews than anyone could handle.

My in-state schools offered interviews for those who requested iirc. I think those who did that were the students that didn't have great stats and wanted to make a good impression or stuff like that.

So I'm bitching about boys to my closest guy friend and this was too funny not to share:
Me: I'll find another boy; another non-dingus boy if they exist.
Friend: i think they might
Me: I think they're like unicorns
Friend: only found by virgins? 🙂

Sorry I just thought that was too funny. Two slightly intoxicated people IMing is just a formula for hilarity.

pretty much everything's better when you're slightly intoxicated 😀

I am a little on the tired side, yes. 🙂 I didn't sleep all that well last night and meeting that many new people all in one day is a kinda tough on quiet little me. 🙂

Score twin, there's an MCAT 42 paranoia club. 😱

We thought we were so cool (you with your t-shirt) and we've been BAM rejected!

This would be a good time to throw that crazy MDAPP link you just showed me.

Honestly, I just can't see someone with a 40+ MCAT getting rejected from a school. You have to be a freakin genius to get that score. Why would a school reject you? I know it happens, but it's just crazy to me.

It has to be the cockyness
