Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

I'm always in a world of hurt come UK vs. Duke, especially after that Final Four game in... '91? '92? I had a little "thing" for Christian Laettner in HS (plus my mom pulled Duke as her #1 in the office pool 3 years running), so I was quite the Blue Devil fan there for a while.......

Everyone at Vandy seems to be a Blue Devil fan. I swear, half of the undergrads are Duke rejects.

While I'm glad we don't have to face them in basketball, we do get to play them in football this year. Should be an interesting matchup: two preppy academic Southern schools with crappy football squads.

I'm not a fan of Duke (although why should I, we won the championship!), my favorite NBA team, the Magic (see location under avatar) drafted JJ 🙁

Yes, Matt Walsh. He was cocky and I didn't like him. He kept shooting 3s. I'm so glad he left the season before we won. :laugh: He was picked up as a free agent by the Miami Heat, who then let him go. He would've won a championship with them if he stayed!!! LOL!!! He missed out on TWO!!!

I'm glad all our players stayed for this next season. We only had 1 senior on our team who left. Adrian Moss. Not even a starter. Our 4 star starters are now juniors. :meanie: Only Lee from Tennessee (3 point shooter) is a senior that is a starter.

:laugh: Walsh, that was his name! I think his mom wrote a letter to some athletic director complaining about the rudeness of their fans. I don't know whether she wrote it to our school or not, but I do remember some quite merciless signs commenting on that fact. I also seem to remember he not only lost out on a championship ring, but got dumped by said centerfold. :meanie:

A letter to whose fans? UF's? Jeremy Foley is our director if that sounds familiar. Every opponent's fans hated Matt Walsh for some reason. He says it's because of his hair (goldie locks as he says...lol). He shaved it off when he started in the NBA.

as a HS junior, they came to my hometown and did a little presentation. too many country-dayers in the room for me to feel comfortable.

Funny story in our school newspaper "The Alligator", Matt Walsh and Corey Brewer (also from Tennessee) got into a fight in Matt's last year during practice. Apparently Matt treated the then freshmen like ****. Corey punched him right in the face, ****ing awesome!

The score didn't reflect the game.
They had a kick return for a TD and 3 big time over the top plays where our weak secondary just messed up.

Oxford's very nice. Lots of red brick and ivy... about an hour from civilization, so not too out in the middle of nowhere. And for some of us, it would have been in-state tuition. 🙂 (Although still the most expensive of the state schools by far.)

Hi and good night everyone!!!

The white coat ceremony was very nice. My dad took some pictures... hopefully he will remember to email them to me. It was hot and humid though... I wish the cold front we're supposed to get had come through a day earlier!!

Durden, I just found out his gf was the July 2002 playmate. Do a Google Image search of "playboy lauren anderson" 😱

My friend went to one of the bball games and she was there in the crowd. For some reason, everyone in the student section turned around when they found out and my friend just went "daaaaamn." :laugh:

Nah, I was talking about how he could get up to like $2k a year in high school based on grades and SAT scores. I thought since KY does that, they would also give full rides to public schools baesd on the same stats like FL does.

In hindsight, I'm glad I had no regrets on attending UF among the other acceptances I had (FSU and USF, didn't apply to Miami). USF offered me $1,500 a semester to spend on anything (UF offered a big fat zero 😀 ). It was very attractive, but their sports have nothing like UF's and I live and breathe sports.
