Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

I just saw this thing on CNN or something. Some babies died because they were given adult anti-blood clotting medication. It made their blood thin. 2 of 6 died. 1 critical condition. 3 okay. $3.5 billion is spent every year by hospitals to fix messups with medication. 😡

It was in Indy. We have been hearing about it every newscast.

and in more positive news, the Amber Alert we had going on here is over! baby girl was found safe and sound. YAY!

thank god! is this the one that was snatched by that crazy lady that cut the mom's throat? i really hope so, some people are capable of such evil its unthinkable.

someone told me about this today--i just can't even stand to think about it

that AND the six skulls. I mean, fine- you thought you came by them legitimately, but seriously- why do you want six skulls sitting around the house?

Different strokes for different folks.

Strippers these days 🙄

...but I'll tell you what's not cool--killing strippers. Strippers are people too; naked people who may be willing to pleasure you for a price you negotiate later behind the curtain of a VIP room. Besides, there's no reason to kill them, 'cause most of them are already dead inside...Good night, folks! - Peter Griffin 😀

human error. someone put the bottles with the adult dosing in the electronic cabinets that are used for babies. i've seen those cabinets, staff punches in their code and then tell the machine what they are getting and the machine unlocks the door. its used for inventory and billing. someone just didnt check the doses before pushing the meds so really 2 errors were made, 1. putting the wrong vials in the cabinet in the first place, 2. not checking the dose. 🙁

when i was on ob/gyn there was an anesthesia error. i dont want to get into the details online but thankfully the woman came out ok, there were some freaked out people for 60 minutes though until they figured out what had happened and were able to reverse it. like i said, no harm done and the woman was fine but still, always check the label of anything you push.

so a few years ago I had a stripper as a therapy client. and she is TALL. like, NBA tall. true story- I thought she was a transvestite when I met her. but I digress... so I asked her how tall she is, and she told me, but then explained that she used to be an inch taller. apparently all the bending around the pole destroyed some of the vertebral cartilage and she wound up losing that inch...... :scared:

Bobsledders lose an inch of two because of the g-forces in the turns.

oh wow--just a few seconds to check the dose would have saved their lives. how are the parents ever going to deal with that? who fills those cabinets anyways?

So I had microbiology lab this afternoon. We did the gram staining technique on 4 samples. I am shocked to say that I totally loved that lab. Seriously. This stuff is freaking cool; apparently I'm pretty good at it too. I ended up with the best slides in the lab.

Maybe there's a pathologist in me!

Or maybe not. 😛

<- *suddenly glad she's not doing a masters yet*

I have 2 tests this week. Most of tommorrow will be spent locked away in the library.

people get weird when they spend too much time in the library. like today i had a box of crackers--and like 10 people wanted to try my crackers. i'm like wtf....well they are pretty yummy.

seriously, you work your whole life building yourself up to become a doc and get into a nice residency program and then you decide to risk it all to give a stripper the hand of a cadaver? wtf?!?!?

I didn't say what type of residency he is in. Probably a pathologist. 😉
