Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

what ever happened with your appt with the techs beary? were they good?

Hey, thanks so much for asking! Yeah, they were good, and I got to see a doc right away. 😀 My pacer is working totally 100% fine but what happened is that I have had these wires for more than 8 years and they eroded through the vessels that they are in. This happens pretty commonly. So it bled a little bit around it, but not much (because of all the scar tissue), but the wires are rubbing up right against a nerve - which REALLY HURTS. And they are really kinked impressively. But they gave me some narcotics to get through the next few weeks and the pain should hopefully go away once my body reabsorbs the blood.

I am really glad that it turned out not to be anything serious - I have really been having serious chest pain with it! Also nice that it was pretty easy to identify what was going on so now I know. Anyway, it should get better soon. If it absolutely doesn't get better, I have the option of having surgery which would be totally elective to create a new pocket for the generator and move the wires around. This isn't a big surgery at all. Right now, I'm going to wait at least a few weeks before I even think about doing it because I am confident it is going to go away. 👍

*downs more percocet* 😉

That was probably way more info that you wanted. But thanks for asking. 🙂

no that was actually very cool beary. i saw a pacemaker on a cadaver in anatomy so i know what you're talking about when you mention the pocket, at least i think i do.

glad it wasnt too serious!!! *stares at beary's percocet* :meanie:

*sends hot soup and a blanket, carried by stripped-to-the-waist (and hot) Corps boy*

did i miss something?

i didnt know evo was in your part of texas.

Hey that sounds like an offer to me. It's only a 5 hr drive too... I think that jerk was leading me on. 😛

I just made a hug pot of coffee and I'm headed to HEB in a bit to get some comfort food. Being sick sucks but it's an excuse to eat things with massive amounts of sodium that I usually don't let myself eat.

that bastard! 😡

go get some comfort food VD

So I was totally bored last night (because I couldn't sleep and laying down made it super hard to breathe) so I filled out an eHarmony thing.

Jeebus! This website is super super expensive - like $30 a month!! Thanks, I'll stick to nookie from the hot 20 year old. That stuff is free.

Wow, this is quite a page.

beary, sorry to hear about the pacemaker; hope you'll feel better soon.

VD, hope you feel better soon too.

Scent, not sure if anything bad is going on w/ you, but if it is, hope it gets better. 😛

I am not sick, but I *am* sick of reading anatomy. This book is supposed to be reader-friendly, and maybe it is to some people, but *I* practically have to use a freaking translator to make sense of a sentence like: When viewed anteriorly, the inferior thoracic aperature is tilted superiorly. What that means in English is that the bottom opening of your chest cavity is tilted upward when you look at it from the front. I swear, the entire book is written like this. 🙄

On another note, today is Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year. So Happy New Year to all of the randomites. 🙂

I don't know how many of you guys watch Real Time with Bill Maher but this week's episode ROCKED.

I have decided not to continue with eHarmony only because I am SO marrying Bradley Whitford. 😍

hello.... you're gonna be a physician! if you didnt understand this right away.... 😱

😛

aww q, thats how anatomy is. the material is dense because its pages and pages of this type of thing, i remember so i know what you're going through. we all make it though, what helped me a lot was having my netters or rohens with me when i'd read stuff like that and always looking at the pictures as i read.

btw, happy new year! :hardy:

Thanks. 🙂

We were told to start with Ch 3, but I had to go and read Ch 1 first so that I'd even know what "anterior" and all the rest of them mean. 😛 I have a Netter's, and I plan to start using it soon. But first I have to learn enough freaking vocab words so that I can have a fighting chance of understanding what the h*** it is that I'm even looking at in the atlas. 🙄 I have a second atlas for radiology images too, and I think that will be very helpful. But the best thing is that our book comes with computer tutorials, and those are great.

Yeah, the vocab is tough but it comes quickly. You'll have it in no time! 👍

Just remember that I am the anterior cervix and A-man is the posterior cervix. 😎

blah...i'm totally lazy today. i need to get groceries, but evidently my butt is glued to this chair

😳

So what you're telling me here is that you're the head of this operation, and he's the a**. No big surprise here. :meanie:

hey, I'm about out of milk at home, so if you get the chance... thanks. 🙂

lol. well i do have some milk in the freezer. that minimizes my number of trips to the grocery store. i have no vodka though...just cheap wine. 😀
