Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

Man, I saw The Big Lebowski 8 years after it came out. Wish I would've seen it earlier. Probably my favorite movie comedy wise. The Royal Tenenbaums is close.

yeah, Big Lebowski is required viewing for all... there seemed to be these random waves of white russian/Big Lebowski madness that swept over U of M every once in a while and you couldn't get Kahlua anywhere :laugh:

Michael Clark Duncan is badass imo from today on. He's apparently a huge Bears fan and he was a guest on some ESPN talk show today. He was defending Rex Grossman (their QB) from one of the hosts. Michael defended my alum! 😀 He said that that host was disrespecting all of the Univ of Florida! 😎

Man...my favorite team, the Buccaneers, lost Chris Simms to an emergency spleen removal. Now we have tryouts with Tommy Maddox and Shaun King for our new QB. I can't wait for UF's current QB (heisman candidate) to graduate. I hope he goes to the Bears or Bucs. Only 2 teams I care about.

Apparently Michael is a huge 24 fan. I only watched the first season, but didn't get that much into it.

I'm the proud owner of a 2004 VW Passat. 😀 I feel really good about the car. It's really safe, has low mileage, 2 years left on the warranty, and it's really cute! 🙂

And I have three days to return it if I suffer from severe buyer's remorse. :laugh:

Now how am I going to distract myself until I hear from the medical school? Car research/buying was a nice distraction! :laugh:

Ummmm, I haven't driven it yet!!! :laugh: It's really my hubby's car so I let him drive it and decide. I couldn't go with him because we had the kids and I didn't want to transfer carseats. 😉

I'll drive it tomorrow. We're picking it up then. It just got turned in to the dealership (end of lease) so they need to service and detail it still.

Took less than two hours at the dealership, though! I think it's a new record.

oxeye, congrats on the purchase! I doubt you'll have any buyer's remorse. 😛 Enjoy it!

I just spent quite a bit of time reading up on this guy rebuilding his own Porsche 962 engine. 😱 Google that car if you don't know what it is. A lot of respect for that guy, but he just posted he sold the car right when I was reading it. Several months after the thread died. Weird. Alright, I'm going to try to wake up at 9 AM again. 😛

I just got a speeding ticket on the way to work. 🙁

And now I am so late that I am just flat out going to skip 8 am conference because it seems rude to show up half an hour late.

Thanks megboo. You are totally right. I am in such a pissy mood now. I was just thinking I'm giving myself half an hour to settle down (I have chemistry conference at 9). And then am going to going to have a productive day.
