Welcome to Part 6! Everyone did a bang up job by hitting 10k in less than 12 days--11 days 19 hours and 18 minutes to be exact. A new record! 😀

For those not familiar with what we do here, Molly has been kind enough to put together a nice description.

Not sure what the Random thread is all about? Well, here's the answer to all your questions.

It's basically a restaurant. That serves breaststicks. And lots of cute fruit and veggies. And is patronized by a HO. And Tucker Carlson. Vin Diesel, too. Lots of race car drivers eat here, as well. We're very well respected by the Amish... one girl in particular is here almost all the time.

The food is great if you're low on iron. It's not on the menu, but you can ask about the special secret garlic cure home recipe. One of the hostesses often makes weather predictions, but she's not always around. I think she has another job with the government. Or a government. Something like that. One of the other hostesses says "Bitch, please," a lot, but she's joking... don't take it personally.

Forget anything you've heard about the girl who died here from arsenic poisoning. That was a long time ago, and she's still alive, anyway... just busy so she doesn't come in as much. Besides, a little arsenic adds a lot of flavor to just about any dish.

Pretty flowers by the entrance, hey? Lilis, they are. Beautiful. And the music is totally hopping... we have our very own DJ. Looks a little like Brad Pitt.

I guess that's pretty much all you need to know. I'm usually in the corner booth over there drinking a nice glass of wine. You're welcome to join me, anytime. We're open 24/7.

With all that said, let the green flag wave! Boogity Boogity Boogity!!!

one of my friends just told me that her mom died after childbirth b/c the ob/gyn fvcked up big time. the doctor was found guilty by 3 of his peers i think and found guilty in court. and he's still practicing--supposedly completely overcome with shame and guilt though. mother of 5 children--bled to death. if i ever messed up like that how could i ever live with myself? i don't know

Actually I got a litte buzzed.....I've been such a lightweight lately 😀

yeah, i think it did. thanks nik. i have a presentation tomorrow i'm gonna slap the finishing touches on now.

remember the patient i mentioned yesterday? after the 2nd surgery in as many days he crashed. went into respiratory failure and sepsis. he was in the CCU this morning. hopefully he'll pull out of it but it just floored me this morning.

i'm so sorry to hear about your patient. i hope he makes it.....how sad

you practice the best medicine you can, there will be some things we just cant fix but if you do that then at least you can live with yourself. this is what i got from my ob residents, that whole eagle thing doesnt look so stupid after you read a story like your friends now does it? thankfully fatalities in ob are rare even though its the riskiest time in a womans life.

worst case they do a hysterectomy and remove the uterus if they cant control the bleeding, this lets them tie off the uterine vessels and gets the bleeding at the source. somethings you just cant stop though like an amniotic fluid embolus though. 🙁

well a hysterectomy was done but didn't stop the bleeding--i really don't know anything about it but so horrible

greetings everyone. i'm hungry tired and smelly. Hubby comes home tonight  for 2 whole days before I ship him out for the next 3 months. I hope GA is taping properly. I'm going to watch in a little.

What shall I eat ... hmmm ....

So here's another sad story that totally makes my heart bleed and totally would make me not be able to live with myself if this happened......

When I was a freshmen in college, I had roommate from Will's part of Florida. She was an education turned psychology major.

At any rate, she once told me the story of this kid she used to baby sit.

I don't remember the specifics but when this family friend was going in labor the OB F-ed up and nearly killed one of the twin babies and caused them to have down syndrome and severe mental ******ation. I don't remember whether the other twin died or also was affected with mental ******ation. But still....it is soooooo scary and one of the reasons I don't think I'd ever do anything surgical. I couldn't handle the stress of having someone's life on that grave of a level. I think surgical related things just scare me and are fun to observe but definitely not something I'd see myself doing in my near future.

so you're gonna eat, sleep and shower before he gets home? hmm, if you had to pick one......

downs syndrome is genetic and would he present whether the baby had a perfect delivery or not though. maybe the ******ation was made worst by hypoxia or something? surgery is definitely stressful but its a rush guju, very exciting. plus, for every bad outcome you hear there are sooooooooooooooooooooooo many good outcomes that go without mention, its better than what you think.

Well as I said, I don't recall the specifics. I just remember it was some sort of mental ******ation or severe damage that was due to cutting too far. It was really really really really scary.

I heard this story 5 years ago.

who is Dr. McDreamy on this stupid awful show ? I just want to know who people are talking about... someone is hogging the TV and I want to watch the Office 😡

Oh and in regards to the rest of this post, yeah I agree there are good outcomes but I could never be a surgeon. I think I'll leave that for the guys or few gals that really are up to that life. I would rather have a good life style specialty or have a specialty that may not be a good lifestyle necessary but that is not too procedure based in terms of surgical kind of things. In other words, something like neurology or internal med and its subspecialties would be much better fit with me.

So you ever going to do you avatar experiment to see how many people join on? Let me guess, robots with the American flag in the background?
