I have a Christmas party tonight and I don't want to do my hair and put on make-up and dress up. 🙁 I hardly even know these people.

I want to stay at home in my PJs and be lazy!!!

And fun, fun, fun there are going to be tons of other petri dish kids there - and being this time of year I KNOW my kids will end up sick a few days after this.

Geesh, I'm really kind of crabby today!!

Grrr, Grrrr, Grrrrrr, Grrrrrrrr!

I ended up with a B in Orgo and probably in Physics as well. Crap.

Well, that's the way it goes. It won't hurt my GPA, just bums me out a little since I worked pretty hard. Have to work harder next semester!

I feel your pain. We have a party to go to on Sunday evening that I don't want to go to either. I like the people and they are good friends of ours, but I just not in the mood. Finals just ended...I want to be a slug. 😳

My family is all heading to bed so I wanted to play some WoW - have to download this dumb patch first though. Booooo.

So I'm visiting Penny at the moment... we decided earlier than a night without wine is a horrible night indeed. So we went on a hunt...

First we saw this place called "Bootleggers" and were thinking, "Hell yeah, our kind of place." But when we walked in, it was some kind of pretentious, posh wine store. So we started laughing and turned around and walked right back out of the otherwise empty store, much to the dismay of the store owners.

We get back to the apartment after successfully procuring some wine and a few licentious glances we head back to the apartment only to discover we are without corkscrew. Damn. What is a resourceful girl to do? Why make a hole in the cork using a nail and a hammer. 🙂 Needless to say we are happily imbibing our cork-ridden wine goodness at the moment.

i'm glad you are having a good time with your family--i had so much fun with my lil sis today shopping. she can be so bad though--lmao. i won 4 tickets to Disney on Ice from a radio station--we are going on monday. dude--i am good at winning stuff like that--i've gotten tons of CDs and crap.

People asked me about medical school. People asked what I was going to do with the kids while I'm in school. I answered "daycare". And I got a few looks of disgust. *sigh*

Better get used to it I guess ..... I'd just like to know why a 2 year old and 4 year old in daycare from 10am-5pm is soooooo fun worse than an older child going to school from 8am-3pm.

Sorry .... vent over. 🙁

My sentiments exactly. Ana, are there any other professors that teach micro?? If things don't work out can you retake the class over??

I'll tell you a story that might cheer you up a little bit.

Almost 3 years ago I was in a biochem class where I passed but a few of my friends did miserably with the professor we had and got either a D or F. One was already accepted to a DO school while the other was already accepted to a very very good dental program in the North East. Both retook the class in the summer and ended up with an A or B or something to that effect with the same professor who was much nicer the second time around. They didn't lose their acceptances. One is now a 3rd year DO student and the other is now a 3rd year Dental student who both took their boards for their respective fields this summer. Well the first step to the boards anyways and I have no doubt both did well.

Do not think its the end of the world just yet even if you have to retake it. Sorry that your professor was a jackass but don't give up hope. I'm sorry this has happened to you because you don't deserve it and I've quoted Megboo's post because I wanted to let you know that that was my sentiments when I first read your post. Sorry its happened but if he doesn't do something about the grades then don't give up. Retake it with a different professor if you can.

Yayayayayayayayayayayay!!!!!!!! i wish I read this before I posted what I posted earlier. But just for future record to anyone. If you fail a course that you need to graduate before entering med school, they won't revoke the acceptance right away so long as you retake that course before matriculation and pass it with a C or higher.

Please read the story in my previous post about this sort of thing that happened with 2 students who were going onto professional school and are now in 3rd year of med and dental school respectively.

Don't ever fret until you've got the situation figured out in full because its not worth making yourself sick over it like that. There's a lot worse things then failing a course and having to retake it.

This is just as a future reference to someone who actually might have this happen to them because even some med students fail a course sometimes and have to retake it to stay in the program. At least for us if undegrad it won't hold us a full year behind if it is something that happened in fall whereas in med school it might or might not depending on the school and how they do the remedial stuff.

Glad to hear it worked out and sorry that you were caused unneeded stress by him misreading your grades. Have a great break!!!

😡 Argh, another round of WashU acceptances arrived in people's mailboxes today. But the campus post office doesn't work weekends, I leave town tomorrow for three weeks, and they refused to forward mail during the holiday break.

Is there any way you can ask the university that you are expecting to hear from to temporarily send mail to wherever you are going for the break???

I remember hearing the name "Jay Cutler" on ESPN a few weeks ago. I was thinking to myself "oh yea, this guy sounds familiar. I wonder how he's been doing in the NFL for the past few years." And then I remembered why he sounded so familiar, LOL! But still, the name "Jay Cutler" is very NFL QB-ish. I think he'll be better than Vince Young in the long run. Vince should've been a WR with McNair staying at QB. I don't think Vince is a good passer at all. Are you a Titans fan or just Chiefs? Sucks about the Chiefs' owner passing away. 🙁

Man, but looking at who we've played, I can't believe I saw Eli Manning play in Gainesville. Seems weird now.

I cheer for the Titans, except in the rare event that they face the Chiefs. Vince has been pretty impressive so far, but then again Titans have had some very close calls lately. He better be kissing the kicker's arse after that 60 yard field goal a few weeks ago (4th longest in NFL history). Sucks about Lamar, the founder of the AFL. I didn't know until reading his obituary that he also helped create the Bulls basketball team.

Seriously, day care is not the enemy of child-rearing. It's bad when parents leave their kids from 6am-10pm with a daycare, but 10-5pm is not bad at all. My brother and I went to daycare from 7am-5pm before we were in school and we grew up fine and still knew who our parents were. And on top of that, my mom was getting her B.S. and going to med school through our "tweens" and "teens" and we turned out fine.

Way to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm done with exams, and I think jlw is too. I spent today sleeping in until 10am (woot!) and doing some stuff around the house, to watching a movie, to computer time!

I love that I have no more studying for the next 4 weeks!
