Thanks for the encouragement! But really...this IS Stanford, the most competitive medical school to get in (aside from Mayo).

That's also what happened to Andrew Fire when he applied for undergrad....and look at what happened to him 😉
I didn't know Stanford was the most competitive - I thought WashU was one of the toughest.

Who is Andrew Fire?

hehe, how come you have two mod/supermod icons now Mush?

And the background in your pic is green. 🙂
 I'm supermod-licious! I'm having issues with my smod profile and they were trying to fix it, obviously it didn't work. i didn't even notice that.

I'd like green scrubs and my hubby would know how to do that. 🙁

Ok must study, no procrastinating.

Have a good night kids!

I just got the nicest email from a breast surgeon about a case I rushed. Is really nice of them to take the time (and to brighten my day putting up with VA garbage). A reminder of what medicine is all about. 🙂

"Wanted to drop a quick note to let you know how much it meant to this patient that you were able to get her path back Fri night. She was crying on the phone she was so relieved and happy. As I mentioned to you, my patients and I have noticed how much faster path turnaround has been. When you called to let me know we would need to do more sections on her path, my office called to update her and to let her know we probably wouldn't get results back until next week. I really thought it would take that long for you to be able to x-ray the blocks and look at more sections. So, it was such a surprise to her and such a relief. As you and I have discussed--at the other end of those slides is always a very anxious patient. In this case is was a young single mother just finishing therapy for a locally advanced right breast cancer when this area popped up in the left breast--obviously devastating to her emotionally. She has been completely stoic through all of her treatment and this latest biopsy. When she broke down last night it was the first time that I had seen her do that. So, thanks again for working so hard to get this back quickly, it meant more to her than probably you and I will ever understand."
Do breast surgeons eat breast sticks? :meanie:

Seriously, beary, that's an awesome email to get. You're the bestest path resident ever. 😍
