If I have to listen to one more person brag about how wonderful, and smart, and gifted their child is I'm going to scream!!

I'm just sick of hearing about my friends' "brilliant" children. I need to just let it go, though because honestly I don't think it means anything about how intelligent they are or how they will do in life. Heck, I failed my Kindergarten entrance exam, was never in a "gifted" program, and I think I've done just fine thank you very much.

This is why I need to stay away from other parents. The competition and comparisons will drive you mad.

Yeah, I think that would get pretty annoying. How old are these kids they're talking about??? I mean, I don't think someone could make a great assessment whether or not someone is brilliant at the age of 6. However, I saw a study that kids that were told they were brilliant vs. others that weren't tended to do better grade-wise in school. They said it had something to do with the kid's confidence. I suppose it makes sense because I know that telling a kid they're dumb won't help them succeed.

Yeah, these are kids my own kids' age - less than 4 years old!

Ugh, it's just frustrating when your own child is being followed closely for some developmental delays. But hey, didn't Einstein not talk when he was little?? 😉

Yeah, I think he had delays in speech development. He also failed/dropped out of high school or something like that.

And I second what was said before...your kids are the cutest little munchkins

A joke that I failed it or a joke that there was one at all? Neither! There really was an exam I had to take - private English speaking school in Toyko where my family lived at the time, and yeah, I totally bombed it apparently. 😉

Wow, I honestly didn't think there would be a kindergarten exam 😱

I probably couldn't have even written my own name properly at that age...and I turned out just fine 😀

Oh man...you gotta see me during games. If my team isn't leading by 10 points at the 5 minute mark, I get into a nervous wreck. I can't watch the game, especially when we're trailing. And if I do, I start yelling and cursing very loudly. LOL! I broke my remote control once by throwing it at the TV...

I had that too. It wasn't as bad as I thought to have them taken out. The first day was pretty much a write off, but I was back working the day after. Barely any swelling either. They hurt, but it was manageable. You'll be fine!

Yup - I was 6 when we came back so I remember the last couple years pretty clearly. I want to go back with my parents one day and see if that brings back even more memories. 🙂

hehe, both my top wisdom teeth were at 90 degree angles - one was even coming through the gums when I finally got them taken out.

Have fun - I didn't think the pain was as bad as most people made it out to be.
