Our lovely Randames.

I must say, today public transportation was pretty efficient. Got to work at a record 1 hour 4 mins!

is that fast for you or are you being sarcastic?

Actually, it's over average. Usually it takes me somewhere around an hour and 10 mins. A few days ago it took me like an hour and a half to get in and I was 10 mins late because of that.

The difference today was the subways. Didn't have to wait at all 🙂

ferry? where did you live? jersey or staten island?
SI :barf: what can I say- it was cheap (relatively)

my full-time volunteer placement between ugrad/grad was on SI, so I knew my way around despite the fact that I hated the area and the commute. plus I was able to keep my car. 👍 I had talked with this guy I knew about splitting a place in Brooklyn, but he's one of those "never follows through" people so I had to find something I could afford on my own in a place where I wouldn't fear for my safety every waking moment.

SI! I work right by the ferry. SI has a lot of italians.

10 minute commute for me...on foot. Faster by bike, but I'm too lazy to haul the bike out for such a short distace

Some of the info in NOVA physics is hilarious. Such as "A woman (50kg) is pulling a wagon behind her. In the wagon is her daughter by her first marriage........"

Now, does that information amuse any of you. How unimportant is that?! LOL!:laugh:

Wow, that would drive me to drink. I'm used to my 15 min commute, 25 in traffic.
It was less than a 5-min drive to my old job, or a 20-min walk...the benefits of living in a small town. If there is no traffic (and by "traffic" I mean that you actually have to look over your shoulder when switching lanes :meanie:), it takes like 20 mins from the southernmost to the northernmost end of town....and I live pretty much right in the center b/c I'm such a pimp.:hardy:

I had the Halliday, Resnick, Walker textbook for Physics I and their book is filled with random penguin-related illustrations...like, there'd be penguins being pulled on carts, falling off of rooftops, etc.😕

maybe that passage is a combination of lsat and mcat.

That's like a cup of coffee, no? I thought there'd be more....but I ate a whole bag of chocolate chips last night and then slept like a baby.
yeah, it says there's anywhere between 80-140 mg of caffeine in every 7 fluid ounce or 207 ml cup of coffee
but most of my cups of coffee are 12-20 ounces.

what i could use right now is a shot of espresso 😍

"A sport at a nearby educational institute involves running along the roof of an apartment building, jumping off the edge, and falling into the pool below. This dangerous sport involves a combination of strength of spirit, braggadocio, and inebriation"

😆😆 :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

i think we submitted around the same time
do we get an email when we verify?
I didn't get an email last year...I just kept checking my status page every day. It's agonizing. Last year I submitted in early July and it took about 22 days for verification.

just got this email

YESSSS!!!!!! 1 rec letter down! The prof in my major agreed to write me one....however, she won't be able to do it till mid-August, since she's going out of town, but I told her it was fine. It's gonna take me a while to get all the secondaries in anyway, and besides, I don't think there are too many schools that had the explicit requirement about a letter from someone in my major, so this won't even be an issue for the majority of the places I'm applying to.

I'm gonna call the physics guy now....I e-mailed him last Monday and still no reply, so I gotta call there and maybe someone can tell me what's up - he might be on sabbatical for all I know, lol. That would suck!
