Wow, so, uh, a TOTAL stranger is staying at my house tonight....
I was working out at the Y and was heading home when my buddy who works at the front desk was like, "do you know any cheap hostels around here? This friend of mine needs a place to stay for 1 night." So we brainstormed for a bit and called a few places (the guy came to the Y thinking they have rooms, but our Y is gym only), but to no avail. So I was like, "well, I have a couch so your friend can stay with me for the night." He was like, "ARE YOU SURE?" I was like, "um, of course!"
👍 So I went to stretch and then he came up to me, so I asked how he knows this guy. He was like, "Oh, I just met him...which is why I said, 'ARE YOU SURE!?'" I was like, "WHAT!?
😱 I thought he was your friend!" He was like, "well, you know me, everyone's my friend!" I was like, omg, ok.

But it's this quiet little Japanese guy who's just vacationing around Alberta for 5 days, and I box, so really, I didn't have much to be scared of, so I figured I'd let him stay here. My friend is gonna come by to check on us tonight and bring some bedding for him (I don't have any), but so far it's ok, he's pretty nice. He's from Yokohama, so we talked in Japanese for a bit, and I guess if I ever need a place to stay in Yokohama, he's got my back!

We just went and got dinner at the mall, wanted to watch a movie, but the times were all weird, so we just went back to my place.
Anyway, this is so random! But I remember when I first got to Canada and had nowhere to stay, nobody did this for me (even so-called "friends"
), so I know I would've appreciated someone letting me stay at their house when I had nowhere to go.
