wow, didnt she just start class 2 weeks ago? do exams come up that quickly at all med schools? :scared:

my brother (goes to LECOM) was telling me about his classes...5 weeks..6 exams..i was like GOOOD GOD thats nuts!!!

they can pack in a lot, they've had about 48 lectures since starting 😱

the pace slows down to something a little less crazy as you get into more clinical modules like cardiovascular..... right now for the first years they've seen a lot of the stuff before (except histo) on the mcat, etc... so the med school tends to blow through it all pretty fast.... still, that doest make it any less stressful though.

I've heard the best play time in med school is SENIOR YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That's supposed to be the most fun year, because it like you are on vacation for a good part of it. Oh and I've heard 3rd year is one of the worst!

It won't be there, b/c I didn't save it. There have been a lot of problems this past week; a couple of other people that I know of have had posts and PMs eaten besides me. I've had a lot of problems with IE freezing whenever I try to post or send the PM. 🙄

Sorry guju; anyway, I basically said thanks and that it was a good idea about Kaplan. Unfortunately, it didn't pan out.

yes, it happened to me on the beta server, too; I'm on it now. I was trying to reply to a post in the pre-allo thread, and it kept freezing. I was finally able to post when I just hit "reply" rather than "reply to post" Incredibly annoying. sigh. But it seems to be worse on the old server than on beta.

yeah, 4th year is awesome. shelf exams become just pass/fail and you have all these elective rotations. good stuff.

3rd year sucks because your shelf exam grades are reported as numbers, not just pass/fail (at least here in miami) and you have to do really well in the rotations to make yourself stand out and get great rec letters. the 3rd years here love it so far but that may be just because they just finished the preclinal stuff and usmle step 1. its nice though because they all tell you that this is what they thought medical school would be like all along.

i was only a green mod for 3 months, its like a trial period... i was promoted to permanent mod yesterday and got my official red cross (Q is just jealous) 😎

it has to do with one of you being on the beta servers and one on the old servers, theres a short time delay between them

I don't know. I think so. The beta server is faster, but it still freezes when I try to post or PM sometimes, which is really annoying.

eventually both servers will be combined and the address will just be forums.studentdoctor.net, the beta version is just for a trial period to make sure the site is stable on the new servers
