Random non-pathology and only peripherally related to pathology thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Apparently yes. The prediction is that more and more will do fellowships, and more than one fellowship, with AP/CP shrunk from 5 years to 4. I certainly don't mind not having to do an internship year, but if I understand correctly there was some exposure to path in that original first year.

There is a lot to learn in Path. It's a phenomenon I like to call "upward delegation".

Same rationale behind why there isn't a 2-year (or God forbid, a 1-year) med school.

OMFG they are STILL talking about Terry Schiavo on CNN. OK, time for me to get off my ass, grab the remote, and change the damn channel.

Yeah, the Terri Schiavo coverage is getting to be a bit much. I liked the, "The Pope has just gotten last rites... now back to talking about Terri Schiavo."

I liked what South Park did with the whole Schiavo affair last night

That episode was a slam dunk.

I tivoed it, but haven't seen it yet! Hmm.. what to watch first... South Park, Alias, or the Amazing Race?

I vote for South Park.

I watched both the amazing race and south park........actually my lady made me watch the great race.....i really admire meredith and gretchen!.....

the guys who got kicked out of the race deserved it!......
i wish the survivor guys would get kicked out badly.........

South park was the bomb though!

I watched South Park during the SDN downtime... excellent episode.

Probably is too late for me to watch the Amazing Race tonight - I guess I will watch it tomorrow!

I think time would be better spent by....watching South Park AGAIN!

Seriously, the second time you watch it, you really start the appreciate the true moral and religious undertones underlying Kenny's feeding tube situation.

Paperwork sucks. That's all I gotta say now.

You aint seen no paperwork till you seen how it is done India.......

You need official permission to take a leak inside your house.....damn Britishers!......left behind an institution of bureaucracy which is probably amongst the the most pissy in the world!......
end of rant....

Almost done though...two more tasks at hand. Gotta go to the notary service for one thing. Then I gots to get my PPD placed and my vaccination form filled out. Slowly but surely I'll get these forms all put together.

Get this: I had my MMR, but the dates were not on the clerkship form. So I suppose that means was cleared for clerkship without MMR "officially reported".

Problem is that the MMR dates have to go on the residency occupational health form as well. And while I can get dates over the phone easy, no MD/RN is going to sign the form when my birth certificate is sitting 15 time zones away 😡

Similar MMR problems when I started med school (apparently my doctor didn't record the second time I got the MMR) so I had to get the 2nd shot in the series here in '98.

Not only did I get my TB skin test done today...apparently they had to draw my blood too. Two needles is where I draw the line. Screw you guys, I'm going home!

Isn't it 5pm Pacific already? What's the big announcement and where is it?
As I suspected, it was an April Fools joke. I did not wait for it and let this "announcement" distract me from the task at hand this evening.

You are being awfully secretive about "this task at hand", aren't you. In a very annoying way of course, because you keep dropping hints about it in every other thread! 😛

no i don't. i've only mentioned "task at hand" once. and that was in a state of inebriation. don't read too much into it.

I have no idea what happened! Haven't been on here since thurs night, so I guess I missed it all. They had been planning some sort of april fools joke though.

It's annoying to be on call and have to go in early when Daylight Savings happens. 😡

Oh it's this weekend. I still get confused. I don't want to turn up early tomorrow. Or is it late? I forget.

I like April 🙂 The birds are singing and the sun is shining and the clouds just scoot along.....

The flowers are starting to pop up out of the ground here. Of course we are also potentially getting snow this weekend.

I have some of those symptoms too but I don't have allergies, so I think I just have a cold.

It s my 4 th year here.....I began having these problems last year....hopefully they wouldnt be as severe this year....

🙁 🙁

Allergies can be vile!

The Pope was a good man. Interesting comment I heard this morning related to how much the world has changed over the past 25 years, and a lot of it can be attributed in part to him. Amazing but true.

Yes. I had not realized until this week how much of a role he played in the fall of communism. Sad that he is gone.

****. we lose an hour don't we?

I hate losing the hour but LOVE the extra hour of daylight in the evenings. Ahh, walks among the flowers and green grass! 😍

Today is a great day in college basketball. Sparty got their asses handed to them by the Heels.

My house has become such a mess most of the time that it really doesn't even bother me anymore.
Now it's actually three times the usual mess because in my effort to organize stuff for sale and for collection I have managed to redistribute items across the entire floor 🙁 I have some work to do yet before I can wake up tomorrow and walk across the room to flick on the light without killing myself.

I need to get rid of all these books. When I drive back home next weekend, my car is gonna be chock full of books. That way when I move to Boston, all I will be moving in my car are clothes, computers, and guitars.

I hate moving books. They're so heavy and useless. I will never read them again. Developmental Biology by Scott Gilbert. Nope. Never again. Ooh...what is this? A Physical Organic Chem book...worthless. Oh now look at this...Bates' History and Physical Exam Skills book...that's going in the trash. Moving books suck.
