I just grossed in the most disgusting renal tumor ever. Ick. Necrotic RCC.
bananaface said:Have you tried rest and NSAIDs? 😛
They are going to hurt if you stand alot. That's a given. Every once in awhile my feet are really sore i'll take a pair of naproxen before work. It makes a huge difference.
If you sleep any way but on your back, you can also put a pillow under your feet when you sleep. The little bit of elevation with slightly bent knees will help with the AM balooning effect, if that is part of what is going on.beary said:Rest isn't really possible, but I am resting as much as possible. I don't take walks anymore. I take NSAIDs when the pain is really bad, but haven't taken them continuously yet.
I overlooked Yet Another Yaah Vs. Indian Food Thread 🙄yaah said:When you go out with indian people, it always seems like you go out for indian food. But why can't indian people go out with me to a polish restaurant?... snip... Double standard.
deschutes said:I overlooked Yet Another Yaah Vs. Indian Food Thread 🙄
No double standard.
This is how it works:
They picky eater. You picky eater too. There. Everybody happy.
And ne'er the twain shalt meet!
Why do you worry so much about being polite? Is it really so much better to pretend you enjoy something you can't stand?yaah said:Yes but the difference is I am not allowed to criticize them for being a picky eater. Well, of course I'm allowed to, but you know what I mean.
deschutes said:I just think he wants more Polish-ed Indians to hang out with 😛

More than a few feet I think - more like 25 feet! It is now an extremely strong cat 5 with 175 mph winds. I do not even remember hearing about a hurricane with 175 mph winds.
It can be bad to just go along and be polite. If someone is taking you somewhere to be nice and you really hate it, then you are undermining their intentions to show you a good time and being decietful by just going along. For example, I ate a crab cake at new year's eve dinner this year because it was ordered for me, even though I hate seafood. I felt really bad about pretending that I was not totally grossed out. And, most of the rest of the meal was spent trying not to puke it back up. In retrospect, I should have just said that I was not a fan of seafood and passed. A good host does not want you to be miserable.yaah said:I hope they pick the drunk people up off the street because they will soon be under a few feet of water.
And banana, in regards to being polite, I find that being polite is a good way to live life. There is a difference between being polite and letting one take advantage of you, of course. I tend to live my life by being polite to people unless they have proven they don't deserve to be treated as such.

yaah said:I also wondered about people with pets.
beary said:People going to shelters had to leave their pets behind. 🙁

yaah said:Yeah, well, the city and state sent buses to pick up people who couldn't leave, so that doesn't include everyone. Then there were people who just wouldn't leave because they thought they would be fine. Of course, New Orleans is like 40 feet below sea level, so it's kind of risky, to say the least.
I usually teeter between the following four responses:deschutes said:Change of topic!
How do you guys answer your pages?
(I've gotten so used to saying "Hi it's FirstName, I was paged?" that it never occurred to me to say "Dr. LastName speaking."
When I get a page, I phone back the call-back number. That is when I proceed with the above responses. But maybe things work differently in Canada.deschutes said:Cute. But I said "page", my boy, not "phone"!
She is in Minnesota. 🙄AndyMilonakis said:When I get a page, I phone back the call-back number. That is when I proceed with the above responses. But maybe things work differently in Canada.

Since when did I ever "ring" people? 😕yaah said:Are you still "ringing" people or have you moved on to simply "calling" them? 😛

My background is also sufficiently varied that I have no idea which part of it your jibe is intending to make fun of...![]()
...such as?yaah said:People in other countries...

Ah yes, but as yaah probably knows, I've never set foot in Europe in my life. 😉shorrin said:In england I might ring you up, but only if you are fit.
Is that the power adapter for the voltage change?deschutes said:...such as?
I understand the usage, but I've never used the phrase myself.
My connectivity on the road is going to depend on whether I can find a Type E adaptor at Radioshack tonight!
No, my powerpack already comes with adaptor for 100V-240V, 50-60Hz. I just need to find something that will allow me to stick it into this:bananaface said:Is that the power adapter for the voltage change?
I had a lovely case in point this morning where after multiple polite emails I got a result after sending in something slightly grittier.yaah said:I tend to live my life by being polite to people unless they have proven they don't deserve to be treated as such.

From SDN or from the spot where I am sitting? 😉bananaface said:So how long are you going to be gone for?
deschutes said:I think I'm shearing off all my neutrophils.
Maybe lunch will help.
It means I have a high level of epinephrine/adrenaline in my circulation.beary said:What does this mean??? 😕
