LMAO hahahahahah I wonder how much that rapper hated his life while recording that song!!

Okay, so for this summer I took out a private Discover loan to pay for it.

Well I just found out that I am eligible for federal sub and unsub, and also some pell grant $.

My right to cancel the private discover loan ends tonight at midnight. I don't have to pay interest for the first 120 day on the loan.

My question: should I cancel the loan? Does anyone know if this will negatively effect me and my cosigners(SO) credit? Should I just keep the loan and pay it off with itself in the 120 days?

Probs a little late, but I would probably just have kept the loan and paid it off ASAP. That way, it for sure won't *hurt* your/their credit.

Spoiler free for any fans who haven't seen it yet but...

Dear Stephen Moffat: You said the finale would answer questions. So what the hell was the last five minutes about?! And now I have to wait until November??

Meanwhile, I really do love Matt Smith. That was a stellar performance.

Stupid episode made me tear up several times. It was amazing though. I do not want to wait until November! Saturday nights have been my favorite night if the week, now what am I going to do?

What is a cat cafe?

Also I watched the Doctor Who finale. Didn't quite understand the last part. I guess they're changing things up?

I didn't either. Idk if it's introducing what's going to be the theme for the 50yr and Christmas special instead of a continuation of the season? That would be my guess

Any fellow Northern Californians (or thereabouts) feel the earthquake last night? I did (SO didn't )

Nope, too far west. Epicenter has had 200+ aftershocks. I know people up there and they had a broken water heater and dishes

My first full day in Japan included a visit to a cat cafe!

Ohhhh mah gawd, if you have enough time/meals in Japan, you have got to go to one of the dollar sushi places *drools.* There are a ton of different franchises as well as non-franchises, but Kappa zushi, Kura zushi, and Sushiro are some of the big ones. Including tax and tip (well you don't tip in Japan... so I guess that's a moot point), each plate is 105 yen regardless of what kind of sushi it is. They even have frequent campaigns where the plates are actually a lil less than a dollar. It's mind blowing, and you just won't understand unless you go there.

Seriously, the quality of sushi at these places are better than most "sushi" places in the US at a fraction of the price. Food safety is something they're very much on top of, so I personally trust these places much more than a lot of sushi places here. I think it's Kura zushi that actually has an RFID chip (?) on each plate so that it automatically gets discarded after a certain amount of time. But whatever, it doesn't matter which of these places you go. The uber health conscious peoples of Japan routinely take their little kiddies to these places, and that's a pretty good seal of approval.

It's kinda like visiting CA and going to In-N-Out. If you're only going there for a couple of meals, then maybe go somewhere fancier, but it's an experience to be had. So def don't substitute it for quality sushi by a real itamae if you want a true sushi experience, which is an art... but I promise you won't be disappointed if you go!

I think I have such a passion for these places, I'm sure I've posted about it before...

Awesome. I just emailed this to my Clin Path professor.

I was minding my own business running some lab samples this afternoon. My mentor and the lab tech were talking, but I wasn't paying attention until my mentor said, "Hey, C, do you have a spleen?" 😕 Um, wha...? They were filling out a biosafety thing and wanted to make sure I wasn't immunocompromised, so it made sense in context, but I had to laugh at how out of the blue it was.

You've nailed it with sushi in japan. Also, go to a corner bakery and eat anything there. I mean it.

After 5 months of living here, a lizard finally snuck into the house. And the cats got to learn that there are two parts to a running for its life lizard - the not so fun tail and the super fun rest of the lizard.

tell americans to stop choking on the toys and then suing people and you can have them back

We have a version of them, now, but they are nowhere near as good.

Americans need to start watching their kids more.

It's like the woman who sued McDonald's for having hot coffee. :uhno:

Here and in the lounge? Stop flaunting your fancy kinder eggs devyn...stupid FDA and their oppressive regulations 🙁

Someone's always responsible right? 🙄

I'll admit I do feel sympathy for the people who had to deal with those sort of accidents (the hot coffee woman had a bunch of third degree burns and needed skin grafts and stuff...ouch...) but sometimes *&^% happens in life and you just need to deal with it. Price of living in this world.

The amount and frequency of ridiculous suing is the one thing that can piss me off in about 1.37 milliseconds.
My mom works with a lady who sues people every other month. Now her 18 year old daughter is starting to sue people. Way to teach your kid accountability 🙄
When I was moving I used those vacuum bags that suck the air out.. On the package was a sign that said to not put infants inside. NO STINKIN CRAP! But companies can't expect people to use common sense anymore bc they're too worried someone will sue them even though the customer's stupidity caused it. I'm so sick of all the rules and regulations that have to be put in place because one person ruined it! 😡

You do know the whole story right. That the coffee was like 210 degrees or something and she got third degree burns on her legs. The coffee was way hotter than safe/accepted standards.

I agree our society is too litigious, but that story is overblown.

Yeah, look up the whole story before shaking your head at it. I didn't know the entire story either until my aunt who is an attorney told me about it. The coffee was:

1. Much hotter than any safety standards and gave the woman third degree burns on her legs and I think in some sensitive private areas as well.

2. The McDonald's did not have an appropriately fitting lid on the drink either and when they handed it over to her they did not warn her of this issue so she was completely unaware that they had run out of the proper sized lid and the lid was not secure on the drink.

Granted, putting hot coffee between your legs is not a wise idea, but there was definitely some fault here on the part of McDonald's as well. Just always remember there are two sides to a story.

Overall, I do think that people are incredibly "sue-happy" in America.

Also McDonalds turned down a settlement offer of like 20k and thats when she took it to trial and courts ruled that it was 20% her fault so removed 200k or so from the final settlement.
