gen chem was my favorite but i also loved analytical chem. suffered through a 400 level pchem class and was confused every minute of the way (technically didnt take the prereq because i transferred and had credit for a class similar to the prereq and you could only get credit for one of the two. my advisor thought id be fine. was not.) but a 72% ended up as an A- so im okay with that part
Oh yeah, good old fashioned chemistry curves. In my ochem 2 class there was an exam where a ~54% and up was an A. Average on the exam was a 34%

If it starts up again and I have to read it I'm going to be very cross with you
I liked ochem better than gen chem. And loved biochem.

Mechanisms where the best. Even if you couldn't totally remember the reaction you could usually make some arrow pushing mechanism up and get partial credit. I did a lot of creative chemistry my first quarter of ochem.

Hope you enjoyed that Dubz 😀

my teacher was literally sadistic and wouldn't give any partial credit. at all. So if you didn't have the complete mechanism 100% right, no points.

I'm crying on the inside now. I how you're happy. Ochem (specifically Ochem 2) was the worst academic experience of my life :yeahright:

ochem was my jam for both semesters. The professor and I were just on the same wavelength when it came to how we learned/taught the material

Mine was so odd the class had a theory that he ran a meth lab. He knew too much. For example he would start off with something simple like an r group with a carboxyl off of it then say many steps later you'll end up with lsd

Oh my first quarter prof was like that. We had quizzes weekly though that the TA's graded and they were much nicer.

That prof would have a page on the exam that was basically a giant flow map of reactions with only a few spaces filled in and it would be worth 50/150 points. Fun times.

He also wouldn't always give full points even if you had the correct answer and showed all your work. He wanted something extra :annoyed:

our really really like morphine and meth

I'm your mother. It is my goal in life to crush your spirit.

Mine would vary between this and talking about the most complicated mechanisms on planet earth and saying "So obviously this is pretty easy to just piece together, now here's where it gets difficult" and then he would diagram a super easy mechanism. It's like his brain worked backwards.

Y'all if I would've been given an interview with VA-MD, I would've been on the same flight as Bear.

Yet again another reason that I'm ANGRY I DIDN'T GET AN INTERVIEW

That was my IS and I love VT. It was a heartbreaker getting that rejection

Mine were really nice about tossing us pity points. I used to always write nice notes to my professor and the TAs on my exams because they had a problem for the first exam or two where people would just write hate notes/cuss out the professor on exams when they didn't know the answer to stuff. They always wrote me nice little notes back, I felt like I had a secret messenger service with them. 😍

We also had the pinwheel of death for all the mechanisms bbbuuutttt we were allowed a cheat sheet on all of our exams

We never got cheat sheets, but we were probably allowed to scream and cry during our exams.

We didn't get cheat sheets but we knew what days we had quizzes because the professor didn't have a book to read to us. Most classes she started by reading from a kids book (like Piggy and Elephant). Made the class more enjoyable

You are too young sucka
Am i? I don't know what the age requirements are.

In any case, I think I can prove to the courts that I'm better off on my own than under your influence 😛

Psh, like I'm letting you outside anymore with all the trouble you've gotten up to.

You guys are nuts. Anyone and everyone can come up into these forums and pretend to be PIs too. But I am about as anti contact as it gets, so, maybe it is just me. lol

That's why it took them so long to find me [emoji23] I typically have it well hidden

I don't even have my real name on FB. Mostly because certain family members don't know I've changed my last name and I haven't bothered to tell them yet and doing via FB seems a wee bit passive aggressive

Though I should really get on that. It's been over two and a half years haha

I mean, no one wouldve found me if I hadnt told cdo who I was

Sorry ski. Haha. In my defense they only found you because of my recently added, not because i told them!
No I know. I was just saying that I was well hidden but revealed myself and that no one really knew anything about me and wouldn't have been able to track me down

This reminds me of my high school Chem teacher! She would do story time every Friday, and we'd all get very excited about it.

That FB page helped me so much keep people straight.... I feel bad saying it, but if I haven't met someone in real life, names and faces get jumbled.
Even if I have met someone in real life I still get their faces jumbled. 😳

It doesn't help that I try to look you all up on facebook with your SDN handles. There are no WildZoos on facebook. 😡

I'm considering mass clearing a bunch of SDN people from my FB friends and changing my name.... again.

haha. I have a very small interwebz footprint. Only a very tiny amount of SDNers have the goods on me.

Huh. Speaking of random, I am at the lab and just tried to go outside for a minute, but the doors are frozen shut. Good thing I still have a good number of hours left of doing things. Might have to do a full body throw to get out at some point.
