RANT HERE thread

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I don't normally rant, but here it goes....

Moved into the new apartment last week. Was almost blown over by the scent of cat urine. Was informed that a previous tenant had owned cats that weren't litter box trained. Roommates boyfriend will be squatting here for the foreseeable future.

Left for the weekend. Came back, and first thing a cat goes into my room and pees on one of my towels. Spend the whole day cleaning the apartment and trying anything I could to get the smell out of the carpet that was underneath said towel. Performed "sniff test" around floor and found one other bad spot.

I am excited about going to vet school, but I hadn't expected my home to smell like a dirty litter box. Am regretting not getting a studio already.

Any suggestions for getting urine odor out?

Have tried:
- tough stuff
- Pet odor resolve
- dish detergent
- diluted apple cider vinegar followed by diluted dish detergent (suggested by a website)
- scented candles
- open windows, fan, air circulation
- diluted laundry detergent

It's improved, but I am still getting whiffs of urine... at least it didn't go on my bed.

Oh man. Nothing worse that cat pee soaked into things. I refer people here: http://indoorpet.osu.edu/cats/problemsolving/cleanupurine/index.cfm

I use Nature's Miracle at home, and we use it at the clinic on the faux suede on the reception desk - dogs LOVE to pee on that stuff.

Nature's Miracle also worked for me when my cat peed on my bed (for no reason, just felt like it evidently 😡 ). I was skeptical at first, but it really seemed to work. You have to *really* soak the area though.

I've got a 20 foot tree down in my backyard, no power, and my car got stuck in about 3 feet of mud at the end of my driveway. The entire front right tire was buried in mud. Of course it looked solid until the back wheel hit it. I felt a little swish like I was losing traction, but had no idea I was sinking. Back tire made it through, but no hope for the heavy front end. Had a couple guys stop to see if they could push it out, one of them sunk in mud up to his thigh and lost his shoe. Seriously? How does it get that bad? I've never had an issue with my driveway before. It's due for a new load of gravel and some regrading, but 3 feet of mud? Two people who stopped said it looked like a water line had burst because there was water running down the street, so had to the call town's emergency line about that. And had to call a tow truck to pull my poor car out. Said car is running, but desperately needs an alignment and is making a funny noise on that side. Hoping its just mud dried in odd places, but will have to bring it to the dealer tomorrow for a check up.
And of course, I'm exhausted now, but can't sleep because I now have to pull an all nighter for work after finally getting all that dealt with. Horrible evening 🙁 And I'm really worried about one of my dogs, since she overheats easily and there's no AC in the house now. I left her a bowl filled with ice water in which she was happily bobbing for ice cubes, (and when I say bobbing, I mean submerging her entire head in the bucket to try and get an ice cube) so hopefully that will help keep her cool.

I have power still, so let me know if you need some cool time. At least your roof didn't leak like it did for miss K!

With dog urine, I POUR white vinegar liberally over the spot, let it sit for a few minutes, and then put either a stack of paper towels or an old terry cloth towel over the spot with something heavy on top of it. I usually let it sit like that over night. Might be worth a shot. (if its a nice colored carpet, I would test on a small area first to make sure it won't make the color run or anything! You could probably dilute it to be safe.) Hopefully it will work on cat urine too. If you can pull the carpet up, I would put another towel underneath in between the carpet and the floor. It's entirely possible though that the odor is coming from below the carpet, not the carpet itself. Go crazy with the vinegar and like I said, let it sit for a bit before you put the towels down.
Can you rent a steam cleaner or rug shampooer? That might be a nice follow up to make sure there are no little dribbles in other spots.

Lissarae has power too. I'm jealous. But I'm at work until 8 am, so hopefully they'll have crap resolved by then. Note to self: don't try to pull in the driveway when you get home in the morning.

Thank you cowgirla and everyone else for the advice. I did try vinegar, and it seems to be working so far, but now my room smells like vinegar. How long can I expect that scent to linger?

Just completed a week of working at the emergency clinic with the vet that I can't stand. She is so rude to everyone (including clients!) and only cares about the money. She can get a dog in that is clearly dying, is like 14-16 years old and she wants to run bloodwork and X-Rays to see what's wrong. So, the people end up with a dead pet and a $800-$900 bill 🙁. Does NOT make for happy clients. She is always talking bad about the other vets there and the other techs too. What really gets me is that when you ask her a question she is always snippy with you like you ****** you should know that and then when you walk away she will tell one of the other techs that if you can't handle whatever than you can't do whatever.

Like this past week she had me set up for surgery and as soon as I started she started nit picking everything. I went for the mayo stand and she's like I don't use that. So that threw me off since I have only set up for surgery twice on my own so I have like a certain order I have to do things in. Then she started getting random things and telling me not to get them. Then she told me to set up the anesthesia machine, which I have never done. I told her I had never done that and she treated me like a ***** and was went to Jen and told her to help me then as she walked away she said that if I couldn't set up then I couldn't give injections or get them ready. What do those two things have to do with eachother? I wanted to learn to set the stuff up, but how is someone supposed to learn when they are kicked off working on it when they ask for help.

Does anyone else have to deal with vets like this? How do you manage? I am so sick of working with her, she drives me nuts!

It is very unfortunate that you have to work with someone like that and that there are vets out there like that. I had to deal with one for about 6 weeks as well a few years back. I had applied for the job near where I was going to school so I could make some extra money and keep my tech skills up to speed. I found out 6 weeks later when she fired me that she had only hired me to fill in because I had experience and could help out until she got a full time staff. It would not have bothered me if she had been honest from the start, but she just fired me suddenly saying the reason was because she doesn't need a part time employee anymore. 😱 I am glad she fired me. She was very rude to all of the employees and to the clients. A few weeks after she fired me I read a review online from a client stating that they felt as though there was so much tension in the clinic that if something so much as fell on the floor the whole clinic would explode. That statement summed up very well how it felt working there too. She would make rude remarks, act like she was the greatest person on earth and treat everyone else like they were stupid. I was helping her fill prescriptions one time and I asked her to clairfy if she had written down a 1 or 2 because the hand writing wasn't the cleariest, she yanked the chart out of my hand repeated the entire prescription out to me and then told me I need to learn how to read and then decided to fill the prescription herself since I didn't know what I was doing. 😡 After she fired me, she had the nerve to tell me to go help the rest of the employees to clean up and close down the clinic; I walked out. I should have walked out weeks before. I really wish she had waited another week and a half to fire me though because then I could have been there when another employee cursed her out and walked out the door, that would have been awesome to see.

Unfortunately, there are some bad apples out there. There really isn't much you can do. If it is at all possible, try not to work directly with her. If it is not try the best you can to ignore the stupid remarks/comments that she makes. Listen to the other vets around and try to work with them more. If she won't show you how to do something that you have not been taught, wait until there is some down time and ask one of the other vets/techs to show you that way you can still learn. Sorry you have to deal with someone like that; it really is awful.

YES. I have. I have unfortunately worked with 2 vets who can be difficult to handle. The worse is having to be nice about them in front of clients when all you want to do is close the door and say, "I'm as FRUSTRATED as you are!!!"

Anyway, there are 3 things I've done to make me feel better.
1. Listen to their words, not their tone of voice. Yes, they might be trying to make you feel stupid or degrade you as a person but you can't take it as personally if you just hear the words and not the derogatory tone. Along with that: ask questions- if a client isn't around, politely call them on what they just said to you: "I'm sorry that I wasn't able to set up surgery correctly, I'm still learning. This has probably shaken your faith in me a little bit but can you explain to me why this means I shouldn't be able to assist in the areas where I do feel competent?" I've done this. It took guts but it actually worked...

2. I know this sounds immature and silly but I made up nicknames for them. Seriously, everytime I addressed them, I would think of their nickname and snicker to myself. Catty and childish? Yes. Gave me something to laugh about while they were chewing me out for something that was actually their fault? Yes.

3. Talk to management if possible. Seriously. Clients are probably calling in and complaining about these vets and your manager is hearing about it. (Hopefully the vet doesn't own the practice!) By maturely explaining your difficulties with this person and your drive to learn how to work with them more efficiently and positively will catch their ear. Knowing that staff AND clients are unhappy can lead to change!!

I hate working with difficult people and I hope one day that my techs and staff will respect me and enjoy working with me....there are so many different ways to handle situations!!

Thanks for the tips. I love the nicknames, will have to try that, although I'll have to be careful not to say it out loud 🙂. She gets me so on edge that I just stop doing anything because I know I am gonna hear it about something I am doing.

I work at an emergency clinic and she is one of 3 vets. None of them own the clinic or are on the board at the clinic, but this one has been there for 4 years and thinks she is like the best vet to ever live. Unfortunately there is only one vet working at any given time, so you are stuck working with them.

Maybe I can talk to one of the board members who oversees my wildlife and signed my 80 hour verification form for Ohio State. He seems to think I am a decent tech and he must hear the complaints, so maybe talking to him would help. I am afraid to say anything to the manager, because she is a big time gossiper and I know it will get straight back to the vet and I already feel she doesn't care for me, I don't want to make it any more unbearable than it already is.

Will just try to make it through and maybe after I get some more experience I can get in at another clinic. At least I now know the doctor schedule so I can prepare myself before I go instead of dreading every day not knowing if it is her day to work or not.

I'm pretty sure it's hotter here in Texas than it actually is in HELL!

I miss winter!! There, I said it. I swore I never would, but after about 38 days of 100+ degree heat, I can't take it anymore!!!

Today, it's a balmy 108! 😱
I'm afraid to go outside for fear that I will :boom:

Just took the ACS exam in organic chem, which is our final for the class, at the end of my summer 6-week o-chem 2 class. Brutal.

Let's put it this way. The national average is 35 out of 70. 😱

Here's hoping for a wicked curve, and that I didn't suck as much as the rest of the class? :xf:

Hey, I am only 2 hours away from you

Yup, 108 here too. And 0.1 inches of rain for the entire month of July plus the first quarter of August.

A tenth of an inch.

O. M.G.

Feeling your pain over here in Arizona. Gotta love 100+ degree weather and the summer is still young we still have all of August and September. Think we will have over 100 degrees for at least the next 2 months. Kind of used to it.. I was born and raised here... just make sure you have some sunglasses...😎 and a bottle or two of water. 😉

how did you do overall? the ACS exams are brutal in general, I think in all the standardized tests for General chemistry I did pretty poorly like 69-70 percent

now i'm scared of taking that exam.............does that exam cover all the concepts from General chemistry 1 and 2 and organic?

I don't know yet. Hopefully I'll know early next week. And yes, it covers the entirety of o-chem, which of course you need to have the basic concepts of gen-chem to do well on. I bought the ACS study guide, which was actually pretty helpful. If you have to do it, get the guide.

Then again I still don't know how I did....so.... 🙄

Squirrelsrule,
I do think that people should have to answer for their rude behavior. I don't care if this person is the vet, your boss, the president or king of the world! I would simply tell her that "I understand that you aren't happy with the way I'm doing things, but I wonder if you could address me in a more polite manner of speaking." She is a person, and you are a person. Every person deserve to be respected. If she then continues to act this way, after asking her to speak to you in a more polite tone, I would seriously consider either going over her head or leaving and letting the higher-ups know the reason why. Sometimes people are not brought up to respect others, and especially when they are under stress. The rest of us, however, should not continue to allow them to behave this way. It may be a big favor to this person having someone call her on her behavior. It's also a favor to everyone who she will supervise in the future (including her own possible children, etc.) Veterinarians are not more "special" than other people....she's just another human on this planet we all share, so don't be so intimidated by her. If all else fails and you have to move on to another job, it would be for the best. You'd be surprised how nice many people are in other clinics. I really do think this person you're dealing with is the exception rather than the rule. Stand up for yourself early on in this job to show that you respect yourself and will not be treated shabbily. Best of luck.

Flip side of the coin:

The world is full of jerks. If the standard response to having a jerk in a position of authority over you is to quit your job, you'll spend the rest of your life unemployed.

The most useful skill you can learn in this situation is how to let other peoples bullsh*t roll right over you, and move on with your day.

I have to work with her Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (should have gotten 5 days working with my favorite vet next week but they changed my schedule around and I got stuck with the vet I can't stand 🙁 ). I am super bummed out about it, but am going to try to just deal with her. I need to take her less seriously and just do what I always do. When she gives me attitude, I will try to just take her words and not her tone and see where that gets me.

I kinda talked with the manager about my issues yesterday when I was working and people were complaining about stuff (people complain a lot at the clinic about just about everything, but I have never complained about anything to the manager or really anyone there) and one started talking about the vets they thought were good and ones they thought weren't. The head tech said she thinks that the vet I can't stand is the best vet and I was like she might be a decent vet, but as an overall rating, I would put her at the bottom of my list. The manager and head tech both looked at me (like the quiet one has something to say, wow, lol) and asked why I'd say that. I then told them that I feel she has a really bad attitude and I have a hard time dealing with her. They both said she has been grumpy and then the manager brought up the incidents from the week before and was like she shouldn't have done that or said those things. She didn't say she'd deal with it or talk to her or anything, but she heard my point of view and that's a start. My complaints will hopefully carry more weight too, because that is the one and only issue I have at the clinic, I like everything else. Sure, some of the other techs aren't my favorite people in the world and some are lazy, but for the most part we all respect eachother and get our jobs done.

It is amazing how much of a difference just one person can have on your day. Tonight I worked with one of the other vets that is not my favorite vet in the world, but he is polite and helpful, at least he'll answer your questions and let you do things your own way instead of micromanaging you. I was able to be my normal self, I felt relaxed, I enjoyed the evening, and I learned new things from the cases that came in.

I have a strange personality. I am a talkative person and I joke a lot when I am relaxed and know the people I am with well, but if I am on edge or don't like someone, I am like the quietest person you'd ever meet. It is strange, and I've tried to be more outgoing around new people and not let just one person stop me from talking to the others that I like, but it just doesn't happen. I can deal with clients and always love talking about animals, but as far as actually getting to know people, I am not talkative until I really know them, and think they're all right.

All the advice you've been given thus far is great. Another thing that I always try to keep in mind when dealing with difficult people is that difficult people are usually miserable. If she treats other people that way, imagine how she must treat herself. For some reason, this always makes me feel a little better. Even though she might never be "punished" at work for the way she acts, she's probably punishing herself more than enough just by being an unhappy, miserable person!

My rant for today: I am STILL waiting on my file review from one of the schools I applied to. First they said it was taking longer than expected, then they reassigned it to someone else, and...still waiting. Not really professional of them.

Nature's Miracle also worked for me when my cat peed on my bed (for no reason, just felt like it evidently 😡 ). I was skeptical at first, but it really seemed to work. You have to *really* soak the area though.

Yep, natures miracle, and WTF is right you have to SOAK the area and let it sit for about half a day to get out really saturated odors....

Honestly, nothing truly works if a place has been consistently peed on by cats and it has soaked through the carpet. It will sit below the carpet and stank forever. I know that's not what you want to hear, but cat urine is a housing NIGHTMARE.

This is also true....sometimes you have to pull all the carpet out, throw it away and paint the floor with sealant....or repalce the floor, but those really aren't options unless you have a really great landlord or you own the place yourself. But it has been my experience that you only have to go that extreme route if there has been a "crazy cat lady" with cats going all over for years and years and years and years....and so on

Thank you cowgirla and everyone else for the advice. I did try vinegar, and it seems to be working so far, but now my room smells like vinegar. How long can I expect that scent to linger?

you could also try rinsing with copious amounts of water......like completely SOAK the area with water and then suck it up with a shop vac and repeat that several times.....

And then there is moving:meanie:

Squirrels: I worked for a doctor who just seemed like an unhappy person. She would occasionally have a good day, but most of the time she was pretty miserable. Her attitude affected the entire staff in a negative way, and we literally dreaded the days that she worked. Similarly to what you said, she would become rude if something was not done the way she wanted, even if she had never specified her preferences or had told us to do it a different way the day before. For a long time I didn't let it get to me. I knew it wasn't personal, it was just how she was. I liked the other doctors and loved most of my coworkers and wasn't willing to let her ruin a good thing. The last 6 months I worked there, I was working with that particular doctor more and my patience became nonexistant. When she would snap at me, I would snap back (which actually worked to get her to back off, surprisingly). It got to the point where even just someone mentioning her name made my muscles tense. Once I got accepted to a school, I knew that it was time for me to leave before I did or said something that I would regret. I put in my notice and even agreed to have an exit interview with her, something very few other employees had done before leaving due to fear. I warned my coworkers when the day of my exit interview came that it may be my last day, since she had a tendency to fire anyone at their interview. When I spoke to her, I told her the truth. I was as respectful as possible while telling her that she was disrespectful to her staff and failed to appreciate the hard work that we did to keep her business afloat. She turned it into a pity party to try to make me feel bad or make me defensive, told me that I would never make it in vet school if I couldn't handle her, etc but I held my ground and she ended up letting me stay until the date I put in my notice. Since then, she has become slightly better with the employees, especially those who bust their butts for her. She's more open to criticism from her employees because she'd rather hear what they have to say before they put in their notice, then lose them over something that could have possibly been altered. I'm not saying that this is the way to handle this specific person since you don't know them very well, but I worked for this vet for over 2 years and felt as though I could express my concerns. Sometimes people need to hear the truth, and sometimes they can't handle it. But, at least one tech reaped the benefits of my discussion with the vet and the vet seems as though she is trying a little harder to "leave it at the door." I would see if there is someone there who is closer to the vet and have them voice concerns. It's easier to handle criticism from someone you know well and respect than from someone who just met you.

This is totally true. I'll add that different flavors of jerk are easier to deal with for different people, so if you find that you can deal with a particular type of jerk okay, don't quit just because the person is a jerk.

I can't deal well with the backstabbing, gossipy sort of jerk, but I can deal just fine with the classical outspoken and confrontational jerktype, for example.

...that sounded a lot more clear in my head.

For the first time in a long time, I'm all by myself with nothing to do. So what do I do? Between trashy TV shows, I sit on my bed worrying about the stupidest things. For example, I would worry that my kitty cat would one day crawl into the dryer or dishwasher and my roommate would run it. Or someone would break into my apt and my cat would get out. It's this fear that prompted me to get a second microchip into my cat last year (her first one migrated far down almost past her elbows). So now on top of my cat getting loose, I've been worrying that the second chip is the one that is going to cause an injection site sarcoma right on midline with nothing useful to amputate. WTF is wrong with me?

Once I have furniture in my new room and have stuff set up, this should all subside as I'll have things to keep me busy... but that brings me to another rant. I drove well over an hour to go to ikea alone thinking I won't get furniture that's all that big. Yeah... well I guess I changed my mind and almost threw out my back trying to lift this ginormous box that I somehow deluded myself into thinking I could handle. After struggling to get 2 giant boxes onto my cart... and seeing another 2-3 on my list, I decided it was just not going to happen (even if the ikea guys helped load it onto my car, I wasn't going to get it out of my car and up a flight of stairs). But I had no way to lift the boxes back onto the stack. So I guiltily set the cart next to the stack of boxes and inconspicuously tiptoed out of the store empty handed. I went home to go on ikea online to come up with a gameplan for when I'm goign to go back with extra help... and realized that box I semi-lifted was a good 20-30 lbs heavier than I am (and I'm one of those pathetic people who can't do a single push up). I am so effing dumb it's embarrassing. I really need to work on my life skills.

Ah well, you're not the only one 😉 I was talking with a vet tech who worked for a while with fourth year vet students, and she said they were the dumbest people she knew - i.e. because they had et, slept, and breathed vet medicine for so long, they had no common sense left! (But she assured me that it does return...to most people). --- guess I'm in trouble because I didn't start out with much to begin with 😀 I definitely understand the inventing of horrible scenarios when you have nothing else to do...I turn on music and sing along! 😉

Not sure what to call this...perhaps a rant at the aging process. My dog is 15 years old, and has had an enlarged heart for the past few years (she's monitored closely for congestive heart failure). When I was gone on vacation, she crashed, and her kidney values indicated some serious problems. I took her to an internal med specialist, who re-ran the values (not near as bad the second time around), but he still thinks she's in chronic kidney failure stage I. Anyway, I'm taking her to a cardiologist tomorrow - to see exactly what's going on with her heart, so we can come up with a game plan for finding a balance between the heart/kidneys --- two systems that truly hate each other when both are failing. She's happy, and acts completely normal, except for an occasional deep cough (heart related), and that recent episode. She's really never acted her age - she's got the energy of a 6/7 year old. The love of my life right now, and I've been walking around near tears for the past week waiting for this appointment. I hope tomorrow brings news that she'll be ok for a while. Old age really bites.

LOL, I am doomed then, I have like zero common sense. When I am learning to use a machine I always take forever to figure it out the first time and I am terrified about pressing buttons unless I am 100% sure what they're gonna do because I don't want to mess things up. Luckilly I have a good memory and once I finally figure something out I am good to go and can use it easily in the future.

Sorry to hear your dog isn't doing well, that stinks big time! Good luck at your appointment!

I swear the trash guys around here are clueless. I know they have a lot of work to do every single day, but seriously, I have labeled recyclables AND have separated them from the actual trash and they continue to pick them up (we have separate people who pick up recyclables). I may have to resort to a) signage posted on wooden stakes in the yard or b) just throwing the recyclables on the lawn so they can see what the f they're picking up! Sorry... truly frustrated by it. I don't understand why it's so damn hard.

ETA: Well, guess what was waiting in the mail for me today? Vouchers for the blue bags. Also, I realized they are supposed to send vouchers 3 weeks after signing up for utilities so they really stuck to their policy on that one, assuming it didn't get lost in the mail. Yes, I'm mad that I wasted time separating trash and recyclables for TWO MONTHS for no reason.

Genotype, phenotype, jerkotype... makes sense to me.

more of a 🙁 than a rant

my roommate and friend of 4 years had more ovarian cyst issues today. she is having surgery in the states tomorrow and will be med-evac'd home in the morning. she is in an extreme amount of pain and has been since last night. i will miss as she will be gone for 2 weeks if she doesn't end up pushing her start date to Jan. 🙁

I just started a long distance relationship with my boyfriend. The drive from Idaho to Cornell was hard enough but then the car we just bought broke down in a tiny hole in the wall town. The motor sounded like someone put bolts in a blender everytime we tried to start the car. Now my BF is being really grumpy about the distance I know it's going to be hard but seriously he could at least give it a shot

Packing up your life in one place and moving to another is hard. Said goodbye to my lesson pony of two years today, said goodbye to friends and some family last night. I'm looking around my (unpacked) apartment wondering where the heck to start. This is the first place that has truly felt like home since moving out of my parents to start undergrad five years ago and I'm going to miss it. Sigh.

In 2008, I had a root canal done on a molar. In 2010, part of the tooth broke off. No biggie, just a little bit. Last week, it broke more, taking about a quarter of the tooth with it, leaving the remains kind of sharp and jagged. Stuff it with wax until I could get to the dentist today. Dentist x-rays, determines fracture in tooth goes way beyond the gum line and it can't be saved.

I will now be spending my last weekend in Nova Scotia recovering from a tooth extraction. Bugger! 🙄

Dear sweet baby hippos, what is with these bugs? My lower legs, especially my ankles, are COVERED in bug bites. I've got nearly 20 bites. Not joking. I am going mad with the itchiness. I have used half a tube of cortisone cream trying to stop scratching at them. I also had a weird bite on my thigh this weekend that turned purple and burst all the capillaries around it, and two weeks ago a massive spider bite on my arm that got big and took forever to heal. Ahhhhhhhhhhh they itch so much. :boom:

FYI, rabbits make bad roommates. My little man is the light of my life, but if he could crunch any louder, I think he might wake the dinosaurs. Also, WTF with the random thumping in the middle of the night? There is no danger, I checked before I went to bed. Pillow over the head is not working...gonna have to move on to ear plugs. I have also noticed that he is a heavy drinker. I wonder if rabbits can have cushings or diabetes....

Every time I read over my first draft PS, I vomit a little in my mouth. I don't want to trash it completely, but I might have to Frakenstein it with a second draft. I'm also unreasonably afraid of letting other people read it lest they discover my true idiocy.

I feel your pain (literally). One of the biggest change from Los Angeles to Philly has been the mosquitoes (besides the weather obviously). I think they especially like us newcomers as they feasted on my wife and I last summer and this one too.

Just be thankful you don't have "skeeter syndrome". I know, it sounds silly, but every mosquito bite I get results in incredible swelling. I'm talking arm the size of my leg and eyes swollen shut-style. I have never been allergic to anything in my life, but I turned 30 last year and that seems to be the magic number. Now it's either look like the elephant man or risk birth defects in my future kids by dowsing myself in 100% deet. Maybe I'll buy a beekeeper's suit?

I adopted my first rabbit 4 years ago and I still can't sleep in the same room as him or my other rabbit. It doesn't help that they are crepascular and active at night. Right now I have mine right on the opposite side of a wall and they still wake me up sometimes. Turning on a fan helps though, and so does giving them a ton of hay at night so they have something to do. good luck!

You could be in Louisiana.... not only is it 107, but the ambient temperature resembles that of being inside of a Ziploc bag. And thanks to my stout body and impeccable genes, I sweat while eating ice cream, so it's not a real winning situation I have going on here.

I would totally trade you for your weather. It's 63 here and I'm cold.🙁

Haha I can't sleep in the same room as my bunnies either. They stomp, drink water, decide to play. I can't handle it. Even not being in my bedroom they still wake me up sometimes stomping. Like bunnity said, I use a fan and right now have the AC going in my room so that covers most of the random noise. I'd never be able to sleep with them in the same room though
