I can sense a full moon approaching.
Yes, the reason your dog has open and infected sores around his neck is because you snugly placed an electronic collar around his neck sometime around November and did not remove it until last night. No, you should not have tied a soaking wet towel around it and left it for 12 hours. Yes you should have brought him in sooner, and quite frankly I'm amazed you managed to live through the stench for so long.
On to number two. Yes, you probably should not have declined radiographs 2 months ago but now that your dogs chest look like a mess of 100 year old cobwebs you now have a decision to make. Oh, and by the way he coughed up about a cup of bloody mucous while we had him in back. That's been going on for a week and you didn't feel like it was relevant? Hmm.. But hey, why don't you take him home with no meds and no plan. Awesome.
Oh, your geriatric dog has been biting since it was a puppy? I guess it wasn't a problem up until now. No, we don't have any magical pills to stop that. You should take him to a trainer. No this isn't going to be an overnight fix. Shocking, I know. Hey, I heard that distemperment vaccine works wonders for angry dogs...
And those were the highlights of the day.
End rant.
