We waited for our plane to arrive for 3 hours. About to board. Door broke. Got it fixed. Boarded. No potable water. No flushing toilets. Get that fixed. Go for deicing. Coming off the deicing pad. Get stuck on a patch of ice. Wait 2 hours for a tug to pull us off. Tug comes. Tug ends up under the plane. Towbar breaks. They have to bring gravel in to try to get the plane unstuck. Plane gets unstuck. Crew times out. Go back to gate. Deplane. Book next flight. Hoping this works. Approaching hour 8 of delay now.

WHY CAN'T THESE SCHOOLS SEND OUT ALL EMAILS AT THE SAME TIME. I can not stop reading the threads on here for the schools I applied to and have no heard anything from since submission. Reading that people are getting emails makes me fill with anxiety and sadness. I am obviously happy that these people are accomplishing their goals but oh my goodness this is both stressful and addicting. Please just tell me if I didn't get in, why do we have to play this waiting game...

I feel you this is the absolute worst I hope your delay gets resolved, we are waiting for de-icing as well... we were supposed to take off 45 minutes ago.
 
Boyfriend is also delayed. I am driving two hours tonight to pick him up. Was supposed to get in around 7.... now landing after 11pm, meaning we will get home between 1-2am. Fantastic.

Yeah, I probably would have held off coming home even if I didn't have to stick around this weekend! The weather sure picked a bad weekend to turn crappy, one of my classmates from PA was stuck in Texas overnight due to flight cancellations.

Delays continue... sitting at gate waiting for the flight before us to leave, sigh and they changed my terminal so I have to run across the airport screaming. Just because running normally isn't fun enough 😉

Delays continuing here too.... Boyfriend's flight was supposed to land at 10:30 (was originally supposed to be 7pm). Left my house planning for the two hour drive. Arrive right at 10:30 and checked the status of his flight, not landing until 11:45.... so I'm stuck in a huge city that I don't know my way around sitting at the airport for an hour and a half.

Hello! I just landed at said airport that you are at. I'd chill with you but I'm honestly asleep on my feet and that'd be poor conversation. Can you sleep in the car for an hour? Drive for a bit and look at Christmas lights? Grab a milkshake?

Doggy update: Still no sign. Going on 4 days missing. Had one call today with a sighting, but it was from 1 hour after she went missing. He said he was sorry he didn't think to call sooner. -_-

A lost dogs group for my region on facebook helped set up a search/neighborhood canvas which happened today. Covered a lot of ground going door to door and a few people searched in wooded areas. No luck. A few folks have suggested offering a reward, which I think I'm going to try. A woman who lives down the road from me lost her cat and put out signs to no avail. Once she added a reward, someone called and her cat was returned home. Really sad that it has to be that way, but I think someone is keeping her. She is EXTREMELY friendly, and apparently this is a neighborhood where pits are coveted.

Gonna head out tomorrow to add reward signs to the posters and also look in the woods some more. She was wearing a fleece-lined jacket, which I hope didn't get wet (waterproof on the outside but she could be laying in snow), and there are dogs who have been gone for a long time without one and still survived. I think there's hope.

It still really hurts though, I have a perpetual belly ache and overall everything just sucks. My 3rd out of 4th vet school rejection didn't help much. The 4th one is definitely coming, no question.
 
Maybe the rejections and my dog missing are a sign I shouldn't be in the profession lol

Contemplated hunting down an In n Out milkshake but decided that I was too tired to deal with driving anywhere. Gonna be a late night.... once he is here I have to head north to his parents two hours away. Welcome home though!!

This is so crappy. I'm so sorry you haven't been able to find her. I wouldn't be surprised if someone took her in. Hopefully a reward would persuade them to return her...

I am so so sorry. Hopefully a reward will entice someone to contact you, but it's so sad that it has to come down to that. And I can also relate with the rejections... Still waiting on three schools, but all three are more competitive than the ones that I got rejected from. We'll get through! Please continue to keep us updated on your dog.
 
My housing for my preceptorship in New York just got cancelled. I now have two weeks to find somewhere to stay with the very limited amount of money I have. And I have to put my housing expenses on my debit card because I lost my credit card in Walmart yesterday and had to cancel it.

I also got called in for an emergency surgery. Went to go take a shower before going in to find that my pipes are frozen. I give up.

It's in the city. Im planning on doing airbnb I just have to wait until my new credit card is shipped. I rushed it so hopefully it'll be here by Tuesday. And I'm getting some loan money soon. The situation just utterly sucks. Hopefully things will work out.

Trying to think of a nice way to bring up the issue of my one roommate and I taking care of my one roomie's dog a lot. Neither of us mine helping out from time to time, and they both help me out with my guy every now and then. But some weeks it feels like it's almost daily (at least 4 days a week) that we're asked to feed and walk her dog in the evening, most often cause she's at work. Now, her work schedule is usually like 4-10PM, so I personally think she should be able to take care of her own dog given that she typically wakes up later in the morning. There are also plenty of times where she'll have plans and be out and then ask us to feed/walk her.

Now, she's been through a lot these past few months, so I'm trying not to get annoyed by it, but when I work 12-14 hour days like 6 days a week and my other roomie is putting in similar hours currently, it is quite honestly the last thing I want to do, especially when I have my own dog to take care. I guess it sort of feels like we're being taken advantage of. I purposely try to not to make too many plans where my roomies will have to take care of my dog as he's not their pet and therefore not their responsibility and I guess I wish she'd do the same.

Or maybe I'm being overly annoyed by this.

Politely decline her requests if you don't want to take care of her dog. "Sorry, but I have other plans." A reasonable person would accept that.

Maybe she's more sane than some of the roommates I've had, but, from experience, earnest discussions about annoying behaviors usually leads to defensiveness and passive aggression no matter how polite and civil you try to keep it.
 
My school charging $10 per official transcript 😡, and I have to send 5 (possibly 6) of them on Wednesday.

I hate when they charge for that. I think my school charged closer to the 15-20 range if you physically sent them and like 11 if you had them send online transcripts to places.
 
I never thought I'd get any interviews my first cycle applying and now I have two interviews that were scheduled for the same day. I feel like I should be celebrating but I'm really upset over this issue; I would hate to be regretting any decisions in the future when I get rejected from a school and think "what if?"

Pretty sure she ate some of the other cat's food while I was getting everything ready, so not surprised she threw up. Why don't they ever learn...

One school said they would only reschedule in times of extreme emergency, and the other school said they had no slots open for the other available date and to deny my interview to let them know why I cannot accept so they could work with me from there. Except, I don't want to tell them no and risk having them think that another interview conflict is not a worthy excuse.

I swear one of my cats thinks it's fun to have me chase her to try to grab her before she swallows whatever non-food thing she has attempted to consume this time, that she will throw up a few hours later and scare the **** out of me if I don't manage to grab it.

I try so hard, but she is insane. Plastic? Delicious. 8"pieces of hay? Lets eat a whole clump all at once so mom can pull it out of our throat so we don't choke.

FFS, she is a **** head, but I love her anyway

KSU and TAMU! I thought I had the best chance with KSU due to my GPA, but somehow I got an interview with TAMU so now I don't know anymore. The interview styles are different as well and TAMU is my instate. There are pros and cons to both places but somehow it still continues to be a struggling decision!

Which one gave you the advice to reject the interview and tell them why?

If you can only go to one interview, I'd say go to your IS. Most IS application pools will be smaller than OOS pools, so IS probably gives you the best odds. Tuition will probably be cheaper there, too, but I'm not familiar with those schools so I don't know what the difference actually is.

This is a crappy situation to be in. 🙁
