Late to the party but you don't have to date first... just saying...I've never used one to date, but I'm still getting weird feels.
My coffee just went up my noseLate to the party but you don't have to date first... just saying...
But she is a self desribed wholesome person, so she's probably waiting for the home repairman to put a ring on it 😛Late to the party but you don't have to date first... just saying...
I don’t think putting a ring on a caulk gun is very wholesome....But she is a self desribed wholesome person, so she's probably waiting for the home repairman to put a ring on it 😛

What about the caulkers?I have no idea what is happening in this thread, but I approve.
Carry on, spacklers.
I find caulk to be too...sticky. And difficult to work with. Perhaps it's because I don't have the right tool. The simplicity of spackling makes it a winner. What about the caulkers?
EweWhat about the caulkers?
Was just curious what she had against caulk over spackling *shurgs*

Meh. something.
My initial reaction: “I know where I’m hanging out for the next 4 years!!!”My school just opened and accepted the first class for a human med school that's based on engineering and stuff like that. I think it's super cool, actually.
But any time someone brings up the med school, a vet student instantly has to say, "Yeah, those losers get full ride scholarships while the school gives us nothing. We deserve it more."
It just drives me up a wall because the 32 med students are getting privately funded scholarships, not money from the school. It's not their fault our scholarships are fewer and not evenly dispersed.
My initial reaction: “I know where I’m hanging out for the next 4 years!!!”
If they have no debt, they can help me pay off mine!
It's extra annoying cause they're all like, "We need to be supportive and nice to one another cause professional school is hard." Then turn around and hate on the new professional school students. Human med school is hard too! Come on. At least be consistent.
Just found out that this little blip of a freckle I had biopsied off my dog’s eyelid read out as “probable epitheliotrophic t-cell lymphoma.” So that’s wonderful. The dumb thing is that none of the presentation or signs seem to fit her and the freckle has been there for years which does not seem to fit with the reported MST for that neoplasia. I’m vascillating between completely freaking out and just being like *none of this makes sense and it can’t be right*. Ugh.
Call the pathologist and discuss the case via phone. They sometimes get better ideas when you can talk with them and give a better clinical picture than what you can on the submission form.
Yep, I’d say call the pathologist, we’re always happy to discuss things. And if you really don’t agree after talking to them you could order an official second opinion...it doesn’t hurt our feelings and if the opinions are different there’s learning for everyone. Not medical advice 🙂
Thanks guys. We’re sending it out for PARR testing so hopefully that will give more info. If it comes back negative I think I’m just going to talk to our pathologists to see what else could cause weird t-cell infiltration into a macule and/or discuss a second opinion and then choose to just believe it’s fine. If it comes back positive I will probably die instantly of heartbreak 😢
Hey girl 🙂 did you give her gabapentin for the trip? My mom (a DVM btw) says that it can be used for anxiety while traveling. She's used it for cats that get stressed for travel as well as for cats that overgroom 🙂My cat’s FIC is acting up again 🙁 He never has problems at home, only when we travel which we did this week to see family. Looks like I will be cutting my vacation short and heading home tomorrow to minimize stress ASAP for him. Ugh poor kitty. Luckily I only live an hour and a half away but still.
My vet has never mentioned it. I’ll ask! Thank you 🙂Hey girl 🙂 did you give her gabapentin for the trip? My mom (a DVM btw) says that it can be used for anxiety while traveling. She's used it for cats that get stressed for travel as well as for cats that overgroom 🙂
of course! I hope she feels better! My vet has never mentioned it. I’ll ask! Thank you 🙂
Understood, I just want to ensure that my mother is a DVM UC Davis Class of 1990. I just asked her what FIC was and told her the conditions and she suggested gabapentin for the anxiety, but as she knows, you can't diagnose an animal without seeing it. It was just a friendly suggestion to consult about with her vet 🙂Reminder that medical advice is not allowed on SDN. A medical professional should always be consulted for any concerns.
For sure. Just remember though that there are those who find these posts with a search and may happen to have that drug and attempt their own medicine. This is our best attempt at preventing unfortunate events from occurring. There is a meme that circulates with adding I don't know though to any advice in case bad things happen because of said advice. Here it should be ask your vet about x. hahaUnderstood, I just want to ensure that my mother is a DVM UC Davis Class of 1990. What is hilarious is that I for sure do that (and have for quite some time), yet had no idea it was so popular until the meme generation let it be known.
I’m the same way!! I do that all the time and I didn’t realize so many people gave the same half-assed advice. What is hilarious is that I for sure do that (and have for quite some time), yet had no idea it was so popular until the meme generation let it be known.

This is literally me EVERY SINGLE ****ING DAY.
I’m sorry you are hangry and needed a fire extinguisher 🙁I'm debating going home so I can come back tomorrow on my day off to catch up......today has been a lot of small fires, "what would you do if it were your pet," and hanger. Currently very very VERY hangry.

Just went to renew my school health insurance and the premiums have increased over 50%! This is on top of a 50% increase the year before! The premiums are now over $3000 for the school year. This is ridiculous... and what really gets my feathers ruffled is that the vet school only budgets for $1684. Since I am obtaining my insurance thru the school, the cost should be accurately reflected. Uggggg
My sister used to go to the store and buy the most poorly written ones she could find and then read them out loud to me at home. My favorites are a toss up betweena very graphic caulking scene while a guy was tied to a regular chair that was in a shower on a cruise boat for some reason and the one about a time traveling prostitute who did a 360 spin on a guy's caulking gun.
I was laughing so hard!
(Do I need to say NSFW? NSFW. Seriously).
@Trilt this popped up after. same dramatic reading... but with sketches... also nsfwI don'tknow why these are on this thread, but I approve of this whole conversation.
I read a book where the characters did that 2nd one, but they were evolved humans that lived in the layers of the sun and were made of plasma. So without gravity, caulking involved a lot of suction instead of vertical movement. The scene was weird though because she didn't like the guy and kept commenting on him being fat, sweaty, bald, and useless in between squeezing her legs back and forth to create the afformentioned suction. It will probably be forever stuck in my head as a scene written by a very un confident man.
