Here's an important lesson most guys need to learn if they are going to maintain a successful relationship: Being friendly, or playful DOES NO IMPLICATE THEY WANT TO SLEEP WITH YOU. some people are just playful, it doesn't mean they're being seductive. You're just misinterpreting them as floozies to comfort your own ego when they turn you down. Don't get me wrong though, some girls/guys are attention ******/teases, but they are usually in the minority.

I'm at a loss to understand what makes this a "troll" thread. Is one's ethnicity really not as big of a handicap as I'm making it out to be? This is hard for me to fathom. Because if it isn't I would be a lot more comfortable approaching girls.

Seen 1 indian guy/white girl.

i think it's largely dependent on where you live...at my old high school mixed dating was pretty normal.

I've heard that Asian guys do well at anime conventions, although I would have serious doubts about the attractiveness of most girls there. 😀

I'm not going to lie.... I've seen some pretty hot chicks at anime conventions in my asian friend's facebook posts. They are all weird as **** tho (ok ok yes i've never met them so I can't really say this but... i am willing to place a wager)

The best universities to find a future wife? Bible college/ Private Christian schools. 😎 If you're a guy and you're still single at such a place, that is very odd. Women will literally go so those colleges in hope of a husband.

And, to be fair, I think both girls AND guys flirt with no intention of going further. As a girl, I see this alot. It could be just the culture.

I personally would not worry about being single too much. I'm a single pre-med girl, and I can appreciate having the free time and energy to devote my life to study and to other activities.
 
I appreciate your sentiments. I think I'll just try to be more outgoing, and disregard any flirting as serious displays of interest. If its meant to happen, it will happen.
 
Dude, freshen up your gonad. Seriously. Get some of your friends (assuming you have some) and go to bar and pick up some local talent. Otherwise, you can consider lowering your expectations.
 
I dont see that ethnicity matters much. I go to a pretty diverse university I guess, but both my roommates are Indian and they have no trouble finding partners of various races/ethnicities, though they dont go after Indian girls. Something about, 'reminds them of family.'

Just stop looking for a long-term deal and let it develop into one.
 
I'm a white female and I've dated more non-white guys than I have white guys. So I wouldn't say ethnicity is that big of a deal, but I guess it could just be my personal preference.

but there is also the other type... the ones that are really hot, self absorbed (and stupid) and spend thursday, fridays, and saturday nights in the bars and clubs with frat guys. And I think the chances of an asian or indian with one of those girls is nearly 0%...

We are all naturally inclined towards people who look like us. You see this in little kids. My friend has an adopted cousin from Haiti who's in elementary school. Her family is white, but at school she tends to hang out with other dark-skinned children. She's too young to care about race and ethnicity, but she feels more comfortable with people who look like her. I think the same goes for dating. We are more likely to be attracted to someone of the same race; this isn't intentional and it isn't racist. You are also more likely to be culturally similar to someone of your same race--you are more likely to share the same traditions.

That said, as a white girl, I kinda have a thing for Indian-American guys. I'm taken though, so don't ask.

OP,

Just know that the journey into medicine is undoubtedly punctuated with many hardships that are both academic and personal. If you really have your heart set on medicine, do not let something this minute get you down. If it does get you down, as it seems it has, maybe you should seriously ask yourself where your passions really lie.

I am not a minority student, but I do understand that it can be hard when you feel excluded in any way. Keep you head up though; the goal is definitely worth it.

I bet you will look back on this post in not too long from now and laugh at how absurd it sounds.
