This is mostly a rave bc a year ago he couldn't think of anyone but himself so the fact that he even THINKS this way now is what makes me so happy. The money is nice too 😉 but I'm honestly just so happy he got a grip and started giving a shiz. 😍
Written portion of exam... Check!
Now waiting for the practical 🙄

Just don't forget to register him!! 😉

Hmmm...would HomeAgain be the place to do that? What would you call the human version of home again? 😉

:laugh: Y'all are too much. I think I'll keep him around for a while. 😉

Pumpkin donuts don't have a huge pumpkin flavor, I think there is just some pumpkin mixed into the batter. I've never seen them on the East Coast. The first time I ever had one was when I came to MI. It's best with apple cider, but I'm poor. So milk it was.

Heading out to trivia night at the bar with a few classmates. So happy to finally relax and have some fun.
Oh and um yeah... I just AI ed a piggy!!!!!!!! 😀😀

Got to go to my prof's tenure recognition ceremony today! 😀 Was the only student there, but got to meet the new Chancellor and see her get celebrated. Amazing lady and totally why I'm going to grad school.

😀😀 Soooo happy for her!!!

A friend from undergrad is visiting and we went to a presentation by Frank Abagnale, Jr. tonight! He is a phenomenal speaker and if any of you get the chance, you should hear his story!

Is that the guy the movie Catch Me If You Can is based off of?

Yes!

And there's a book too!

Did he talk much about designing secure checks?

He talked quite a bit about checks, but not designing them. For anyone who's curious... He started off with checks he already had from his father's bank account, moved on to making checks and an ID with toy airplane logos, and at one point, he opened a bank account, bought a machine, and magnetically printed his bank account to the bottom of a bunch of deposit slips, which he then placed back in the bank so everyone who deposited money did so into his account. When he got the machine, he said it was enormous and he would have to run down the length of it to arrange things so his checks came out right.

Mmm...well, we have cider donuts, which are good too. Ooh, and I'll get some tomorrow when the farmers' market comes!

I've never posted in the RAVE thread before but I was just so excited today that I had to share:
1.) I retook the GRE today and got 6 points better on the quantitative section, yay!
2.)My transcripts from the university where I studied abroad arrived today--in TWO DAYS!

I had to reorder transcripts from two schools for one of the programs I'm applying to, and BOTH places did it for free! And the people I spoke to at both places were really nice, helpful, and knew what they were doing!

I am finally in the single digits of my countdown to see my bf 😍 !! He hasn't been home in a year so I'm very very excited, now I just need to get all my application stuff done so that I don't have to worry about it while he is here!! Yaaaay!!

One of my LOR writers submitted her rec today and sent me a copy of her comments. She wrote a really really nice recommendation for me and it is just nice to hear. Plus it's just a good rec with excellent anecdotes. She and I get along really well so I'm not really surprised, but it is nice to know she doesn't secretly think I'm incompetent!

I'm super jealous, Trilt!

I still have a 4.0 after 2 vet school exams! I am 100% aware that this will change, but I will relish in it for now! 😀

Thanks! Are you getting pumped to kick some arse next week??? 😀

Trying to. I feel less nervous than I did a few days ago, but inside I am still doing this... :scared:

And I can't seem to stop studying tonight, I keep looking back at my notes and I have been studying for the past 4 and 1/2 hours. I need to stop now and give my brain a rest.

Um, congratulations aren't enough to say how AWESOME you are! Go Emiloo!

My rave:

Just gave Immunology a super mega arse kicking. Pretty sure I got an A on that test.

Was studying in the anatomy lab earlier and one of our cardiology residents was practicing some sort of surgical approach on a fresh cadaver... when she finished, she asked the couple of us who were still there if we wanted to pull the heart. Um, YES! 😀

Was awesome to see the heart in a non-preserved form... the atria are so wimpy!

VERY cool!
My rave: I finally sold my truck topper today!!! :soexcited:
It didn't even match my truck 🙄 but it was much better than paying for a uhaul. I basically profited from it instead of losing $3K on Uhauls. But sooooo glad to have it gone! 😀

Watching polo was SO much fun. I totally want to play now. But I would probably die.

Boston gets a thumbs up! My husband and I went for a wedding this weekend and I think I could have stayed... Not so much for the city itself, but to visit all the historical places and the cute little towns lining the coast. We did run into a giant weed-filled festival of stoners, but the rest of the visit was a much more positive experience lol.

This is silly, but: I've wanted rice for like 5 hours... and now I have a bowl of delicious, buttery, soy-sauced rice in front of me. My stomach and brain couldn't be happier.

FTB: That's awesome! I have promised I myself I WILL start running again this week!

Lissa: I'm impatiently awaiting a new phone. I have a 3 year old Blackberry Curve with no data plan on it, so I feel like I'm limping behind the rest of the world.

I went to a veterinary seminar/conference and ran into a vet I had spoken with briefly over a year ago ... And he remembered me!! He's one of the owners of a huge emergency and specialty center here in San Diego (they've got like 20+ doctors on staff). They do crazy surgeries and pretty much all local vets refer to them. Anyway, he said internships/shadowing are competitive to get at his hospital but he gave me his personal cell number and email address and told me to contact him when I'd like to come in and he'll get me in!! Apparently I said or did something to impress him ... So excited!! I work in a day practice but would love to explore the realm of emergency and specialty medicine 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

How is this not a positive experience??

I am a pretty hardcore cougher when it comes to any sort of smoke, and the park was damn near filled with it so I just wanted to get out of there... Also, my friends in high school kinda got into that the last year or two before we went to college and I just had a lot of bad experiences watching their asses.

i got to go snorkling this afternoon! campus (Grenada?) had some spazzy power issues this morning and broke all the AC units (we just reset ours in the dorm) making all the classrooms obscenely hot and humid. kind professors didn't make us sit through more than 1.25 hours of class (instead of our normal 4!)! yay time off! all of my classmates are calling it a "grenadian snow day" haha

Delicious food. Delicious cupcakes from a local bakery.

Aaaaaaaaaand more delicious food.

This has been a good week so far.
