After my phone interview yesterday, now I'm going up to the practice at 10:30 this morning for shadowing/an interview! I guess the vet is going away tomorrow until Sunday, but wanted to meet with me asap. Wish me luck!

Interview was awesome! I mostly just shadowed to see how everything works there and the vet and I chatted a little bit about my experience. It sounded really positive though, so I'm really hoping I get it. Yay eyeballs! So much more interesting than GP.
for you!! 😀Good Luck!! I will befor you!! 😀
The only thing I feel kind of bad about is that I didn't mention the vet school thing... But I figure I have no clue whether or not I'm going to get in this year, so why put myself at risk for not getting the job if I might not even be leaving anytime soon. That's reasonable, right?

I actually just went through this. I was looking for another tech job, and in all of my interviews they asked me when I was planning on applying to veterinary school. I spoke with the veterinarians at my work about it after my first interviewer asked me this question and I awkwardly fumbled my way through it because I didn't want them to not hire me because of it, and said something like "Oh, I am not sure.. maybe this year, maybe not...". The veterinarians at my work encouraged me to be honest about applying to veterinary school this year at my future interviews. They said since they all went through the process it is not like a normal job where they would have no idea about the application process and you can come into work one day and say "oh hey, I got accepted to vet school so I'll be leaving in a few months". The vets at my work agreed they would feel betrayed by someone who lied about that and said it could tarnish future relationships with that clinic. Which makes sense, because if you get in to school and have to leave, they could have been spending these last few months training someone who would stay much longer. So I guess it is up to you, but I was still offered jobs even with them knowing I was applying (2 out of 5 - and the 3 that did not hire me all said it was due to me not being able to commit long-term, so it will affect their decision unfortunately). Plus I didn't have to feel guilty or secretive about it.
I was planning on telling them if it came up, but then there really was no interviewing part, I really just shadowed. I figured I would be asked what my plans were since I mentioned this was my last year of undergrad, but no one asked. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to let them know before they hire me.

Snazzy!
There's a fantastic rescue that is going to take Samson! I know it means I'll likely never see him again but it's better than him being put down and the rescue has such stringent requirements for adoption that he'll be getting a good home in the end.

This makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad because I so wish I could take him for you. Even just to foster him until you got your own place. But happy that he won't be put to sleep and will find a good home.
My sister gave me her home fetal doppler. I love it. I love finding the baby's heartbeat and just listening to it.

I know I said I had no interest in touching your belly...but that sounds kinda cool. haha.
I saw an Iphone ultrasound probe on pinterest. Looked pretty awesome, except for the 8K pricetag!

Last night when I came home to park someone was taking up half a parking spot and the only choice was to park next to them so I did. This is what I woke up to this morning on my windshield

Haha amazing! As a fellow truck driver, I feel your pain re: trying to park. I always have to shake my head when someone in like, a Honda Civic is parked all over the place. If I can park my giant truck between the two lines, SURELY you can get your little car in there no problem.

This is why I never leave notes on ****tily parked cars. 95% of the time they weren't the one who started the problem, there was someone else parked horribly that they had to work around. And I've gotten (less entertaining) notes and felt bad before. 🙁

Or sometimes, the stupidly parked person is just stupid.
Went to a festival last year. Preface: it had been rainy all day the worst downpour I've ever driven in, but was cleared up by the time the evening came around and my little honda had to park on a dirt/grass field.
So I find a nice safe spot up against a fence, right near the exit so I dont have to navigate muddy spots.
Leave the car, go drink beer and dance. Come back out a few hours later to this beautiful situation (yes, I had to draw a diagram)
