3) My cat Shirley DOES NOT HAVE FIP
We're still trying to figure out what's going on with her but I am so, so relieved.
Today is a GOOD day.
1) Last night I had my second physics exam (final isn't until end of may... stupid academic calendar) and it wasn't too bad. I'm just so happy that I don't have to study physics this weekend.
2) Yesterday was the husband's birthday. I didn't see him all day so we're celebrating this weekend 🙂

Also, I have amazing friends helping me get around, driving me places, walking my dogs, grocery shopping, taking me to appts, etc. The day I broke my foot they made schedules and duties between them to help me out... without me even mentioning I'd need any. So grateful to have met such awesome people in vet school![]()
for awesome vet school friends!Just signed up for my first Krav Maga class! I'm excited. 😀
I just pressed "submit payment" for the entire balance of 4 credit cards Ive been paying on for 4 years now.
Feels good.
Sold the jeep today. 🙂 but also 😕 🙁

This is seriously the funniest thing I have read in awhile. SO is a redditor and he showed me the "Parents of Reddit, what is the creepiest thing your young child has ever said to you?" thread when I asked him what he was laughing at. I then read this one:
"I don't have kids, but once, visiting some friends on a farm, my buddy's youngest girl (5 or 6) at the time, was afraid of the chickens. I tried to explain to her that the chickens weren't there to hurt us but she wasn't having it.
So I'm sitting around the fire pit, looking at one of the chickens a few feet in front of me when I feel hot breath in my ear as she whispers:
"See. He's always watching."
Horrific and hysterical all at once."
This is exactly why I 😍 poultry. Closest things we have to predatory dinosaurs in our modern world! 😀
When my 2.5 year old and her friend were hanging out, the topic of T-Rex and other dinos came up. I asked her friend:
"If you were a T-Rex, what would you do for fun? "
He answered: I'd chase herbivores!
I then asked my daughter this question:
"If you were a T-Rex, what would you eat? "
She got very serious and looked me right in the eyes and said:
"Children. I'd eat children"

This is exactly how I feel about all chickens. Evil dinosaurs.![]()
When I was working at the zoo last summer my job was to hang out by the lions and tigers and keep an eye on things. Right across from their enclosures were the cassowaries. One day two parents were standing and looking at the cassowaries with their little boy. The parents were busy talking and basically ignored the kid, so neither one of them actually heard what he said . . .
Boy: Mommy! Mommy! I want to get a bird just like this and put it in the back yard! Mommy!
Mother: That's nice, honey.
Boy: Yeah! I'm gonna get the bird and put in a cage just like this but bigger, with a floor and with a roof on top so it can't get away . . . *turns away from parents, clenches fists, and says in a deep evil voice* And starve it to death!
I felt like I should be calling the FBI and telling them there was a tiny psychopath on the loose. 😱

"My son (about 6) asked my mother to lay down on her stomach, then he sat on her butt and started bouncing up and down and proclaimed, "Now we're mating like reptiles!" Thanks Discovery Channel!"
so much cringe

Mommafox, thank you for making my week by bringing that reddit to my attention. Hysterical.
Momma fox, thanks for ruining my sleep with creepy children's visions of men with banjos and long beards![]()
I am so incredibly glad I got accepted/choose to go to UT. My biggest fear on starting clinics was being allowed to take short breaks through the day to take care of mommy stuff, and so far everyone has been super supportive. And most of the techs I have worked with so far have gone out of their way to watch out for me. This place really rocks my socks off, even if week one on clinics has been exhausting. 😀

First entropion surgery since vet school today and it looks like it will work. I 😍 eyes
Yay! I have first rotation off so only 3 more weeks until I have to go back to clinics. I'm dreading leaving my daughter at home. I'm spending as much time with her as I can. This year is going to be tough.
I 😍 eyes
Dyachei, would you ever consider going back and doing an ophtho residency? Or is your life direction not conducive to this sort of switch away from GP?
This and a cherry eye correction are among my favorite rare surgeries to watch.
