Is it appropriate to use the same essays for both the MD secondary and the MD/PhD applications?

I thought if you didn't get into a school's MD/PhD program then they automatically put you in with the rest of the MD applicants.

I don't know. I think the school (utsw) is different. They make you apply both TMDSAS for MD and AMCAS for MDPhD
