hi,
I am planning to reactivate my BU application.can anyone tell me what are the chances for applicants who reactivated thier applications(from waiting list) to be accepted with the same scores as there will be no interview session again at bu .Any oneelse is in same situation like me?

even i am on the same boat.I was placed on waiting list.i will reactivate this week end (may be) i have heard that they give preferance for those on the waiting list. but who knows ??????
lets be positive this time that we will get in.

Hey, count me too, I reactivated yesterday. As far as I've red in SDN, about a third of all the spaces last year went to people from the previous year. I don't know if we'll have to go for another interview though.
Here are my stats:
part I - 92
Part II - 89
GPA 3.5
toefl 263

guys, i have a question, where can write the statement of purpose? i wrote 2 pages one and i am wondering if it should be typed in the statement of qualification and objectives section?

your stats are real good,i know a girl with 90 who got into BU this year and i dont know why they did not take you guys with 92.when did you guys apply?
My stats
NBDE:90
GPA:3.78
TOEFL:263
I am not done with my part2.I think i should give my part 2 now as all of you got your part 2 scores also.i talked to nicole she told me that we wont be having any interview this time.
 
I am sure an early application will help all of you.

its not just the scores that matters
they do look for other things llike work experience, interpersonal skills , chairside manners , (any research work, masters --- these are not must ,but will weigh more while making decisions)
people withouth masters nad research have also been accepted. so no need
to worry about that

last year personally i felt that my application was nt complete
i did a very big mistake. not writing the SOP properly
infact i didnt know that we have to write something about us( 😎 ).later i came to know that we did have to write objectives and qualifications for joining the program. but it was very late.

this time while i am reactivating my application i could really see that they have mentioned clearly in the application to mention the statement of qualifications and objectives


so people, please do look at the application before sending it??
i know everyone is very smart in SDN 😀 😀

its okay if u send it little bit late.they wont reject you

i hope no one will make such a foolish mistake as i have made in the past

HEY ,
may be she meant no interviews only for those who were already interviewed last year and r reactivating their applications this year.
probably since u reactivated ur application she must have assumed that u were interviewed last year.....though there r many who were rejected rt away without an interview due to late application....
just my thought.......even i shall call and find out

I have one more question for all of you in which other schools are you planning to reapply ?how about USC i heard that they are very picky though they have almost 30 seats?Any idea about preclinical test at USC?

i think there is no need to send any documents,nicole told me to just fill the application .
 
I would like to tell all you folks to please go ahead and apply to BU,Its an excellent school and donot belive in rumours that we don't get patients...we have so many that we need to send back.
And we will be spending time on typodonts till april and I have heard that you'll be able to do a crown prep with your eyes closed...And they prepare you for the nerbs......which is a very tough exam..
and they have an excellent faculty.we are having a tght schedule but lots of free gifts and lunchs and I am just loving the orientation.!!
 
Dear Friends...
I have been having trouble trying to re-activate my application at BU....the online application page just says that they are done with accepting applications for 2004 and that they would be accepting applications for 2005 from 2nd Aug....I have been checking daily...but no online application in sight!!! 🙁 ...Those of you who have re-activated their applications please tell me if anyone reactivated theirs online...I had mailed Ms.Nicole and she mailed back saying I could apply online....
don't want to be late twice!!! 🙁
Please help!!!

Well those of u who cant get thru the page for application form ..I wud advice do this:

Go to tools>>Internet options>>>Delete cookies >>>delete files>>>> clear history. If posible Restart ur computer and it shd work.
If it still isnt workin then its an error on their site. May be its designed to handle only few ppl at a time !!!

there is a column regarding sop,should we type our statement of purpose again.And do we have to pay again for the reactivation.

yes u will have to type ur sop again and also pay fees again.....

A question to all those reactivating their BU application,do we have to alter/change our sop?I just included a couple of lines on what i've been upto since graduating.Right now am working as a dentist in India,but will be moving to the States soon and will try to get a job as an assistant or at a research facility.Do i have to add that into the sop as well?Please help me out..Thanx.
 
hi all,

Ispoke to Nicole about reactivating the application. She said that we need not retype the SOP. We can mention in the space that SOP has been previously submitted. Also for the recommendation letters , in case we do not remember whose letters we have submitted we can jus put in 3 names. it does not matter if they do not taly.

Hope this helps. Anyone has spoken to nicole about any more vacancies?

My stats are:
Part I-91
Part II-80
TOEFL-290
GPA-3.42

Hope we get in this year.
 
do you know apr. when BU will start sending invitations ? how much we have to wait.. 1 - 2- 3 -4 -5 moths or more?

hi, i retook my part 1 in may. earlier my score was 86. that is why i was not accepted last year. i do not know about this year. .

i reactivated my BU application last week,i reactivated with the same stats,can anyone tell me if this will help me or not?
 
If you have anything less than 90, just don't keep hopes on BU. BU gives lot of importance to NBDE score. This may vary based on ethnicity (as they want diversity also) and research experience. This is based on my experience. I may be wrong.. This is what I felt talking to Ashayeri many times after being on wait list last time.

That's right mandakki. I heard that the present class has a GPA of >3.
