yup, still up, although not studying. just finished the evite for my match party. it feels strange having to put a disclaimer on a party saying that if i cancel it suddenly on march 17th not to call cuz i'll be a 5150, but there's also a bit of confidence in the fact that i will hopefully be drinking because i'm happy!

love how you bothered to put a disclaimer on it...I'd just put a sign on the door saying "Party over" :meanie:
 
Bah...can't sleep and I have a shift at 7am.
 
Got my MCAT scores-28M. That might be ok if my GPA were higher, but there's a reason why I'm an underdog. I'll be taking it again after my second deployment overseas.
 
Apparently consumer flights can't fly out of Cinti right now, because 2 of my attendings are trapped there.

yeah, but then they'd all start calling and wanting to hold me close and rub my forehead and say "it'll be ok" over and over. this was a pre-emptive strike, saying "leave me the eff alone" should this happen.

my level of paranoia is epic right now, but it's comforting to be surrounded by people trying to match into plastics and ortho right now cuz they're all the same.

Meh, I'm pretty transparent too (I've had people approach me during interivews). It doesn't bother me so much - I never post anything I wouldn't say in person anyway...
 
Took a break from painting and went to the gym. Came home to take a shower and noticed 2 huge paint splatters on my face. Like a clown! And no one even Looked at me funny at the gym!
 
...so just to spice things up a bit I'm thinking of taking two years off and getting an MBA, probably after 2nd year. Been thinking this for maybe a week or so now, but finally said it out loud.
That is all, now time to go to the library and learn about RNA.

Eh, it wouldn't be worth it to you in the long run. You would earn more those two years practicing, and investing that money, than you would running your own business.
Besides, most of us won't have to worry about normal business things like overhead. I'm sure there is plenty of business that wouldn't hurt, but I would rather just have a contract lawyer and an accountant.

Trying to figure out how to do it on the MBA side (would I need to take the GMAT and that sort of stuff) before I think about what I would need to do with my school.
Probably the backwards way to do it, but such is life...
 
Our school doesn't allow you to leave for things like that. If you take a leave of absence for research or something else related to that (medical) and making your knowledge about medicine greater, it's okay to leave. But I'm pretty sure they wouldn't allow an MBA, esp since it's offered as a combined degree.

One of the points here is the combined degree, my school doesn't offer one, but I know the president of the school is trying to get us an affiliation so we can get MD-MBA and MD-JD (we do have MD-MPH). Like I said, I haven't done all the research on this yet...

I know, imagine that. I want to get a better idea of all the options (including a better idea of the career prospects within and outside of medicine) and the process (do I need to take the GMAT or will they take my MCAT, I've heard different answers, when do I go...) before I go and talk to my deans here...
 
very understandable. But then again, if you can't leave school, you are losing a lot of time researching something you won't be able to do. Just a thought...

Good point. That being said, I'd be doing something to blow this time anyway, so I might as well think about something useful.

I need to do some research to get some free meds. I'm poor, I'm sure I'd qualify...just have to figure out where to go.
