Hmm.

I did get approved for my license, I found out. At least, my resident training license. Since apparently the one I got last year for the same state couldn't be renewed or anything.
Now I get to play doctor, again.

I will ask the rest of the board though. So, I can get my full license in July. I can't moonlight until God knows when (likely 3rd [4th] year). Other than having to pay to renew it, is there a downside to having it? It shouldn't change my malpractice. I just want to get it done with since all of my stuff is fresh at the med board, and if I wait 2 years, I have to do all the security crap, get the transcripts, etc done again. Plus who knows how long it will take to come back. At least I'm not in Texas.

Cost: $ to renew...how much is it?

Benefit: not having to apply in the thick of residency; having your own scripts; being FULLY LICENSED

Then again, I--and prolly a lot of folks reading this thread--haven't reached that stage yet to help you out much.

Congrats though on being two weeks away from escaping Hades! :clap:

15 days. And oddly, no nightmares yet. In fact, last night I had a dream that I had a long layover in Hawaii. No wonder I didn't wake up on time.
 
Just learned that they make take me from my nice, casual last 2 weeks of intern year to continuing the hellish, clinic every day that I'm currently on. Because apparently one intern is enough when I'm on service, but not enough when some of the others are.
I'm slowly dislearning the incentive to work hard.

25 shifts is all that stands between me and R2 year. Can't believe how quickly it's gone.
 
On my last hour of Goljian. What a good feeling.
 
Vacation is going too quickly. Too much to do. Plus still need time to sit around doing nothing. The 20th is going to hurt.

Starting to get old. Glad I only have 2 more weeks. Much more than that and I'd go more nuts. Haven't left the apt since Sunday. No fun at all.

The best thing about boards studying is that it ended. Eventually. I had issues with injuries during the studying. I managed to set a stove on fire, slam my hand in a door, and burn my back on a hot seat belt (completely with seatbelt shaped burn). But I survived. Oh yeah, I survived the studying too. :luck::luck::luck: to you.

That's just hilarious. I just hate the studying considering the doctors haven't really come up with a definitive diagnosis and I still hurt. Try to ignore it, but hard to ignore when using the computer and it goes flying (somehow still works).

haha...I actually wasn't hating on the computer. It's what happens when the computer is on your lap and the leg spasms up. And thanks!

12 days. (on my break from practice test)
 
Can't go to sleep. I finally made the mistake of diagnosing myself. Don't really like what I came up with (and may have been suggested in the past). uggh. I hate studying for boards.
 
9 days and 11 1/2 hrs and this is over. So glad I didn't postpone it like many of my classmates.

30 days and counting for me. 🙄

In response to comments about my study schedule - I'm well into that schedule and things are going well. I come home tired every day, but I'm not burnt out. 👍 I hope it continues that way...:scared:
 
21 more shifts until R2 year. Feels pretty good when one of your chiefs tell you you're ready for the next step. It's crazy looking back to my first shift back at the end of June.

I hadn't done this all throughout the 2 yrs until now. Pretty proud of that one. It just doesn't help when something is wrong and the dr isn't sure what it is yet...makes board studying a very bad idea.

I've started to hit the burn-out time. Probably because there is so much I would like to cover again before boards but know I won't cover it all, so why do any of it. I decided to go through stuff I keep missing on q-bank or keep forgetting.

Oh, and this kinda goes into the "Street Diagnostician" category - Not only have I had repeated flare-ups of medstudentitis, but now I'm starting to suffer from medstudentitis by proxy. :scared: Now I see "signs" on other people and wonder what they have! :laugh:

things that get me excited...my caffeinated beverage of choice is on sale for the lowest amount I have seen in years! Too bad there's a limit...good thing I will go in more than once...
 
Hopefully the migraine this morning (which I woke up to) and the residual headache I have now will qualify as the last of the headaches before boards.

Yes, someone is out there, and someone is getting extremely frustrated at their school's decision to try out an "experimental" pharm and microbio curriculum on them.

And by "experimental," I mean "non-existent." 😡

On Tuesday I begin the eastward trek. Most of my stuff is in boxes. Life will just be better once I get there.
 
I'm enjoying this last month in the department as an intern, despite the brutal schedule. We're getting a ton of procedures handed down from our R2's now that the year is ending. It's really pumping us up for next year.
