nervous about this car thing, but so grateful for one

So bored. I guess this is what I get for refusing to study.

Assembled a grill today. Tomorrow, hanging pictures and assembling bookshelves.

Fun. I'm still getting stuff for my place. It's huge and looks deserted, but I'm working on it. I have to drop a friend off at the airport, which just happens to be close to IKEA. 😍

Ugh! I hate hanging pictures. Maybe I'll just wait on that (like three years or so).

i love having the pictures up on the wall... i've spent my down time this past week putting up pictures and making my new apartment feel like home 😀

I didn't even think about hanging up pictures until my 2nd year in my apartment and I thought "Hmm...maybe some pictures would make this look a lot less like a hospital room." So I got some pictures of the beach...very nice when you are nowhere near one.

Someone needs to remind me that mowing a third of an acre with a 19" mower deck takes awhile. That way maybe I won't do it again next week.

Thanks...whoever you are...:scared:

Thanks. Just took the UW self-assessment exam.

Good news: Probably won't fail.
Bad news: Still got a long way to go.

17 days and counting...🙄

It's always better to know that you probably won't fail though. The time will come very quickly for you!

I love having pictures up on the wall. Just hate hanging them. Hope your place is starting to feel like home for you pictures and all.

I have too many walls. Need more pictures. Need more money.
As it turns out, the stuff on mine and my wifes walls during college/med school/etc just isn't "fancy" enough for a house. I mean, I love my "Scrubs" got milk banner, but it isn't for a formal living room or dining room.

:meanie: but hey...he heard you say you were missing him. And good luck on the car thing. What did you decide on?

This one!!!!!

God, I love this car!!!! I want to keep it forever!!! 😍😍😍

It has a connector that turns my pioneer stereo into an ipod when I plug mine in - auxillary jack no more!!!! So cute and rides like a jeep, it's the best car ever! No wonder I couldn't choose between the other two. :meanie:

Thanks for the advice, Dr. McNinja!!!

I love pictures. Those are like my first priority after getting the furniture arranged. Really makes it feel like home. I'm just waiting to get back one of my pics the movers broke. 😡

3 words - Burlington Coat Factory. They have wonderful, elegant pictures and other decorative items for great prices. Def check them out!

BTW, I found out today I am starting in the MICU.... strangely, this is the rotation I was secretly hoping for. 😕

you finally got your schedule? congrats...

oh wait, are you sure it wasn't a dream again?

mmmm, tasty vegetable omelet

breakfasts like these will be rare once I start!

Someone stole my gas cap last night.
Guess I'll buy a locking one now.

Did they siphon gas while they were at it? Heard that has started happening. Sorry it had to happen to you!

Finally made it to the gym again. First time since board study had started so long ago (maybe 2 mos???). Feel ok now...almost feel like cleaning (but keep looking at the clock)...too bad it's so late!

gyms are overrated. I'm going to get my work out on on the beach :meanie:

Hey, Mr. Intern of the year hot shot, any advice for me in the MICU?

even though you probably only had to do SICU

I was going to sleep in today but some blowhard decided to jackhammer at 7:40 in the am!!!! 😡

Hey, Mr. Intern of the year hot shot, any advice for me in the MICU?

me?

Uh, make sure to read. Keep your head down, especially early. You're wrong even if you are right. It sucks, but you move on.
Listen to your other residents to learn which nurses to listen to. Then listen to those nurses. Unfortunately, with shortages, ICU nurses (and ED nurses, natch) aren't the "best of the best" always, so you have to know which ones to trust.
Marino's ICU book is good for quite a bit, especially learning what the numbers for the PA catheters should be and what they mean.
Always do what is right for the patient.
Jump in and offer to help/do procedures. You learn more by doing than by reading. Read what you can't do.

finally, I would like to remind everyone of the TWO POST MINIMUM in effect on this thread. That is all.

Therefore, your gas cap post was in violation. But I'll give you a pass since you gave me some advice. 😀

I love (but feel bad) being the last patient for the day...then they have to do tons of tests. But at least the dr acted like he had time for me this time.

I'm thinking it's a good day to go to bed early...real early.

However, I did mount some nuclear driving lights on my Jeep. Now let someone cut me off, I'll burn their retinae.

I need a set of those. Upstate drivers have this "no signalling" policy that needs some negative feedback.

Just under two weeks until the big Step. Is it unhealthy that I simultanteously want more and less time before the exam?

No...I remember that feeling.

I can feel the end of intern year is finally at hand! Interns are in town for GME orientation. I have 5 shifts left, including one step-up shift, and true excitement about things to come are increasing again!

im incredibly exhausted but very very happy!

now i just need my laundry to be done so i can sleep

You don't need laundry to sleep.

Heading back to the land of nowhere sometime today. Will probably be on here lots after that (I mean in the middle of nowhere).
