Hmm, I better stop this before the page takes too long to load :meanie:

I'm just happy to see you post!

This thread is a little behind.

Time to cook something up really fast for dinner, in time to watch Bones and House and **hopefully** study during commercials. Back later to see who didn't pad.

Amusing myself by the fact that there is a severe weather alert for my area due to temperatures below freezing. No precipitation, this isn't the growing season, just frost.

Yes, I love those warnings. They seem to go away when it's normal for it to be that temperature. Maybe they are assuming people are stupid and won't prepare themselves without the warning blinking in their faces. And maybe the people who are still trying to keep their yards green. Just guessing of course.

this isn't as fun when no one likes to post. Maybe we should tell socute she can keep up now.

yes I am trying to pad by myself

It is easy to keep the threads even without people posting. 😡

And by this, I mean you should all try to pad more. Make the threads uneven...maybe it will spark a padding event by a person to even them out again. Hence the reason I am padding this thread.

Serious pad this time. Do you all keep your suspicions high about domestic violence when interviewing all your patients or just in cases that spark the thought? Just a question because I saw a statistic about every 2-3 out of 10 females will be a victim or have been a victim at one point in time.

And yes, I am procrastinating studying for an exam I have in the morning too. uggh

That is a good idea

I have been so lazy recently

I bore even myself with my obsession with residency

Ya, but I bet you can look up all kinds of information all the time about residencies and living situations and things like that.

oh yeah, all day, but I need to pass psychiatry to graduate!

my resident says he wants my mental status exam to be delivered "trippingly off the tongue" by next week

I should be checking more. I don't think anyone really opens up to triage.

Congrats on the interviews h24g! Sounds like you will be a happy person for a few months.

I hate assignments telling me to tell them personal thoughts. Thinking about just bs-ing it and getting it over with without telling them personal feelings (with the exception of telling them the classes didn't teach me squat).

we r...rockin an a rollin, rockin an a rollin, bah-ber-am!

And I probably made them uneven again.

thought you'd all like this story...

rotating @ a prominent east coast EM program, talking with the pd & residents. he's talking about how he started reading apps recently... first one, step1 275, good app, got an interview. next one, 265, he says "wow we're getting some great apps this year!" keeps reading, and the guy has an SLOR that was one of the funniest things i've ever heard. in the 1-5 rankings there were multiple arrows pointing lower than the worst rating, and in how confident are you they will match section the writer had written, verbatum "over my dead body."

even thinking about this cracks me up. i would love to not only shake the letter writer's hand, but meet this applicant. sadly, much to the residents' chagrin, he did not get an invite b/c he would take up a "normal human's" spot. i love that some people still tell it like it is these days, so much respect for that letter writer.

awesome.

2450 til 100K.. insane.. i hope i get #100K

Wow...this guy must be a character. I'd invite him/her just for entertainment value alone...sort of a freakshow curiosity kinda thing.

I like the letter...I knew there had to be some of those writers out there that wrote things like they are.

Surprised no one has bitten the bait for either thread.

Maybe I'll finish this page out then go back to studying.

hopefully someone doesn't come in and snipe it

and hopefully I can find a good pic for it.
