Here they are very equivalent, especially since most nights the ortho service also covers spine and hand. It's well known here that the ortho intern (during days) is the most beat down resident in the entire hospital b/c of consults, traumas, floor calls, OR calls, running the service list, running their bone board, etc. It ain't pretty.
 
im about to get the ps3 I still have a regular tv though..

Hey EF...I know your class doesn't have access to the schools email anymore (we still do). The guy that ran the bookstore at school passed away suddenly a couple days ago. Kinda sucks...he was pretty helpful, to me at least.

Same here. I dont know I guess it depends. I did take over 50 pages one day (not call) on ortho here which is more than i ever did for trauma (I think)

We do nights as the EM intern on Ortho, since we don't get bogged down with the bull**** d/c's, paperwork, etc. It's pretty high yield since most of the time we are in the ED with consults and traumas. We do cover the floors as well. My first night on I got over 40 pages (had to clear it twice). It's been less than that since, with last night being close to that busy with around 25 or so pages. But most of them are simple pain, nausea issues. It's still a pain in the ass to deal with though.

Wow...almost 8 weeks since we've been fitted for our white coats and they have yet to come in. I don't have nearly enough pocket room in my scrubs to carry what I need. What takes so long to put a frackin name on a coat?

You dont just go to some place in town and have them do it? I did it in the beginning of orientation (along with the other U of A residents) and it was done in like 2 days.

Who knows. I'm close to just buying my own. I happened to grab a pair of scrubs today that has no pant pocket. I'm down to one. Man. I'm rolling with minimum equipment today. Glad I'm on ortho. :laugh:

50 huh. pretty steep challenge considering I'm on surgery right now.
