OK, now that I've sniped the page iatros so graciously set up for me, I think I will work out a bit more after I make a new ipod playlist (as we all know, reading workouts are never as serious)

Just poking my head in to say

Hey!! how is everything going, I worked a shift today, so I couldn't be on here, but I wanted to know how your rotation is going, what do you think of the ED over there! Do dish, share with us pathetic folks who live vicariously through you.

Are you planning on staying in a hotel for the entire month or just until you find somewhere else (i.e cheaper) to live?

7-7 shift...forget how tiring they were

and to think....this is voluntary?

have you already graduated and are you just volunteering?

yes ma'am...i am volunteering at a local ED in Miami...its pretty cool, have made some good friends there.

wassup, the hotel is free, Christiana is very generous. As it turns out, I showed up for orientation this am, but it is not until tomorrow, so no ED shifts under my belt. However, their ED is HUGE!!! Gargantuan!!! :wow:

It says 56 beds but looks much more than 2x the size of Penn's ED of 25 beds....

According to the treadmill I have worked off well over that Snickers bar I ate, as well as some of the medium size pizza I split between lunch and dinner... 😛

hmmm...have u worked out twice today?

At least it is a 2mile walk both ways to the hospital, but I really must eat better for the rest of the stay 😡

1) Karate kicks, weight lifting, and crunches in the am
2) walk back and forth
3) 40 mins on the treadmill while reading
4) 45 mins speedwalking/jogging with ipod

Hi there. It is Mon-Fri, then you check in again the next Monday (no weekends). Perfect if you are doing a non-ED rotation. The rate seems cheap, so if necessary I can always spring for a night or two depending on my schedule. 🙂

WOW...im thinkin of the booty ur gonna have at the end of this rotation:meanie:

Yeah, this could be an awesome "fitness rotation", as long as I figure out some cheap and healthy restaurant food. 😀

 And I like the idea of threatening people with my scary booty! :meanie:

hey, is anyone going to ACEP in OCT?

they'll get heart attacks, you'll just electrify them you'll be so stunning

🙁 I want to, but I can't, I'll be in the middle of a rotation where I can't just ditch for a couple of days. 🙁 it so sucks, I heard it is very, very awesome.

if you saw me, you'd say funny looking... or you would just be screaming in the opposite direction, take your pick

now there missy...there will none of that here...i never run in the opposite direction😀

 It's only Mon-Fri for people who live within 150miles. I can take a $5, 45min train ride back and forth, but it might not make sense for a 7am shift, for instance.

BTW guys, on SAEM's away rotation catalog, they have descriptions of most away rotations, including whether housing is provided. I considered that when making my decision about where to go 😉

I am obviously not that savvy

I am going. The other jealousy-inducing fact about this rotation is that it has sufficiently offset my schedule where I get 3 weeks off, 2 of them in the beginning of October

ive never been and heard it was awesome...also heard alot of PDs are there

you bit*h!😀

Orbitz has vacation packages for hotel and airfare for a reasonable price... maybe it would be worth going to the residency fair to twist arms - I mean, schmooze
