Does anyone else see a blank post from walla (#102)

I didn't think it allowed you to do a blank post.

I am really hating the lecture I am studying, hence the procrastination.

What is it, I just finished nucleotide metabolism and took half an old exam...my Biochem should be interesting tomorrow...at least people will be happy about the result of the game not everyone watched (vague on purpose)

It's one of the DO-only lectures. almost done now, but I still have most of my biochem to get through by the morning. Why do they have to test us so often? Probably because of people like me who slack off until it gets close to an exam, but still. This test thing is getting old.

Yes, yes it does. On the bright side, speaking as someone who dated a DO student (we're not engaged), those "DO-only" lectures come in really well when I get credit for "helping with homework" (read: getting a backrub). Not that my backrubs help you any...

I hate overnights.

Please tell me she was able to do more than backrubs. If that's all she could do, you haven't met a DO yet. Not that back rubs aren't nice, but she should have been able to do more than that.

No, she could do a lot more but when she was practicing finding landmarks and whatnot (can't crack a back that doesn't want to be cracked) it always felt like a good backrub...

By the way EM2BE, I didn't mean to imply that all DOs do is give backrubs, I was mostly saying I remember when my fiance was taking those classes (she's a 3rd year now, lucky) in addition to the "main" stuff and I feel for anyone who has to learn anything else...

Good luck on your exams...

No Superbowl for me tonight...will be working an overnight shift. However, we'll be shutting down one of the rooms (they all have tvs to watch the game). History predicts it will be a light load...keeping my fingers crossed. Also hoping I can fly tonight (we're doing our buddy ride alongs now in preperation for july 1st when we fly exclusively).

Did you fly last night?

Lost was kind of dissapointing. I'm not sure whether i like the flash forwards.

Odd that your back won't pop. But I do understand how the diagnosing feels like a back rub. When I was helping teach the first years, I volunteered to be the patient any chance I got.

I didn't guess you were taking a low shot at me. I was out of it for the most part anyway (like I am now). It is that one extra class that sometimes seems like life would be easier without it. Then I remember how good it feels when people work on me and I wouldn't ever take that part back. The advantages of being a student with a gimp leg.

Oh and thanks. And good luck on your exams too.

I had a person give away last night's new episode of house. Kind of disappointing, but I will still watch it anyway.

It does sometimes (especially when I'm running a lot), but by the time she had gotten to that part I was half asleep from the rubbing she would do. I think it was sort of the deal: I would be her guinea pig as long as she rubbed my back first...
Like I said, worked out well.

Hey guys. Question for you. What's the difference between an orthopod and a carpenter?

(highlight below for answer)

A carpenter knows TWO antibiotics

Thanks, one down (biochem) one to go (physio).
And yeah, I don't want to study...

Oh ya, definitely was not planning on studying tonight. I have a few things I need to do (like put together a scholarship app) and I don't even want to do that.

I like seeing you frequent again socute. There for a while I thought you were thinking you were above this thread.

And drill, the day will come eventually.

NEVER!

Honestly, my surgery clerkship was a special kind of hell on earth and I barely survived. I took several months and didn't go anywhere near most of the forums (except the lounge). I'm back to my normal life, though, and have FULLY decided to pursue Emergency Medicine 🙂.

Currently planning electives! I don't get a whole lot of elective time, but this is what I've come up with:
-Critical care
-Radiology (our school has an EXCELLENT radiology elective)
-Anesthesia (actually required)
-Emergency Medicine (x2, of course!)
-and one more...suggestions, people?

Two months. It's a dumb, dumb rule for a number of reasons.

Me? Yay!!! I'll remind you if I don't hear from you soon!

We have the same rules, but there may be ways of getting out of it. Like it may be possible to do peds EM and that not count as an EM rotation. Not sure yet of course, but I am going to be asking when the time comes.

I guess not out of it, but around it and cheat the system.

Same thing here, apparently you can do 3 months of a given rotation, but EM ultrasound or Tox or Peds EM doesn't count towards that three months...

ooooooo...I forgot I could do a tox rotation while not a resident. I 😍 overdoses and poisonings for some reason...as long as they don't happen to me.

Isn't that the point in general? We get all riled up about a trauma or a STEMI or an acute stroke five minutes out with EMS...as long as we're not the guy with whopping 10/10 CP and a broken femur...

My parents still haven't gotten over the fact that I'm pissed after a shift with no good calls (I still sometimes drive the band-aid wagon over vacations), and I've been an EMT for 5 years.

Ya that is the point. I remember my brother being the same way (he was an EMT). We all laughed at him, but understood where he was coming from.

They just laugh...+pity+

very little program love coming my way, getting anxious... 🙁

when I went on interviews people said I'd go wherever I wanted - where are they now? 🙁🙁

matchititis is worse than the flu 🙁

the elections are a close second

maybe I'll comfort myself by tinkering with my ROL again

Just finished my Physio exam (you know its bad when a girl who usually finished an 80 question exam is 45 min takes 1.5 hours to finish, and is the first one done)...now all I have to do is sit through 1.5 hours of ethics, yeah, cause that won't suck at all...
