Well, having grown up in the city I'm biased...but I love the Central Park Zoo for a quick pick me up trip when I'm feeling blah.

where would that be? Alaska

There are NO words for how badly I need my weekend off. I just worked 12/14 days. Today is my last.

On the upside, favorite CC of the day (thankfully went to psych) "I want to drink blood!"

hahah. That's great 🙂

Can't wait 'til next year!!! So ready to be done with my core rotations!

Rescuing this thread from way too low on the list...

And going to bed while watching Mythbusters, which is by far the best show on TV.

Hmmm...Maybe I should go to bed soon too. Have to make my attendance known tomorrow. And study for boards this weekend.

Introducing my new avatar!!! 😀

Don't study for boards until classes are OVER. It's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

i agree with socute! (no suprise there) studying hard for classes during second year is in essense studying for your boards!

I'm taking Kaplan though, and there are some classes this weekend, so I really don't want to miss that. Otherwise, ya...definitely not studying too hard til after spring break. I feel like I am behind the curve, so I need to study a little harder. Plus I don't have that much time off between school and the boards.

I know, I know, it is a stark contrast to Angelina Jolie, but I couldn't help myself! 🙂

But very nice. Now you can confuse people about which sex you are.

Hi guys (and gals), long time no see...

Some unsolicited advice: if you paid for the classes, then I'd go, but otherwise the most important thing for studying for the boards is just having a plan once school is over and following it. Limit your sources as much as you can. It's better to read one book (First Aid) five times than to read 5 books. And I wouldn't start studying too early. My friends and I studied (hard) for 5 weeks. All of our question bank scores were going down by then end of the last week because we were so exhausted and sick of it.

As long as you're diligent, and have studied well for your classes, you'll be amazed how quickly the information comes back to you. I thought I had forgotten almost everything from first and early second year, but after one time through first aid it was amazing how things resurfaced.

One last thing: of all the question banks, I highly recommend USMLEworld. The questions are much harder than Kaplan, but they do a much better job preparing you. After I had gone through their database I felt the actual test wasn't that difficult (grueling yes... but otherwise ok.) If you're averaging 60% on USMLEworld, you should do well on the exam.

That's just my 2 cents, so take it with a grain of salt.

Thanks for your 2 cents. It actually makes sense to me. I am one that is always afraid of burning out from studying, so that makes me feel better. We actually only have one section after spring break, then we review for a few weeks. Then we have ~1 month off to just study. Then I'm taking boards (one before we start back up and one right after). I thought about doing that with the first aid book, so that really makes me feel better.
