Does anyone know whether BU sends their decisions every week?

For all curious, Yale has started sending out decisions. Heard today via email and it's a no for me. Good luck to everyone else! 😀

Really sorry to hear that jfloriaxx...Would you mind sharing your stats and when your application was complete?

Does anyone know if GWU sends out a confirmation email when they've received your application?

Really sorry to hear that jfloriaxx...Would you mind sharing your stats and when your application was complete?

What department did you apply to?
It's okay, I'm not too bummed, but it would've been nice 🙂

My SOPHAS was sent 11/7, applied to the Health Management and Policy tracks.

Quick info: 3.5 undergrad degree in Neuroscience, GRE - 160Q 164V 5.0 AW, 3 years of research, a few extracurriculars, a few other jobs within the hospital, and 1.5 years after undergrad working at congenital heart center.

Does anyone know if GWU sends out a confirmation email when they've received your application?

Yes, they send an e-mail confirmation when your application is complete. I got mine like a week after SOPHAS mailed everything.

Has anyone heard back from hopkins msph? Or know when decisions will be coming out?

I've been following this for a while and figured I should join the conversation:

UGPA:3.6
Major/Minor:Allied Health Sciences Degree from UCONN concentration in Health Promotion. Minor in Women's Studies/Arabic
GRE: W: 4.5 Verbal: 151, Quant: 149
Experience/Research: Just graduated early from UCONN this december, not much experience in the field besides volunteering in a hospital in Kathmandu, Nepal in the summer of 2012 with a friend. We taught health and hygiene as well at local schools. Also volunteered in New Orleans to help with Katrina relief. Looking to go right into grad school with a global health concentration, primarily in maternal and child health.

Applied: GWU, BU, Yale, Columbia, NYU, UMD, Northeastern, UCONN (all mph programs with global health track/maternal and child health)
Accepted: GWU (12/21)
Rejected: Yale (1/14)

SOPHAS mailed them out on the 11/7. I got an email from GWU on the 11/20 saying my app was complete and on 11/15 from Yale.

Has anyone heard anything from Columbia yet? About application being received/reviewed or anything?

No news from them since SOPHAS sent out the application

SOPHAS sent my application to Columbia in mid-November. No word from them and I wouldn't expect to hear back until late Feb. at the earliest. The wait is brutal!

Anxiously waiting!:

Do the timing of acceptances generally vary based on what department you applied to as well?

I'm not sure if I just never noticed it before, but now on OPUS, under the View Decision link, there is one called Pay Admissions Deposit. I could have sworn it wasn't there the last time I checked, but there is still nothing new when I try to view my decision. I got so excited when I saw the new link! 🙁

I remember reading on last year's pages that people saw links on their OPUS much before they actually received any mail or decision... So maybe it is still good news?👍

I agree with this. I did not apply to the university. (Is this Emory?) But the same thing happened based on last year's thread. It very likely means you are admitted, but it is a glitch in the system.

I am sure it is not premature to say congratulations! 😀

Hmm... I JUST got access to OPUS yesterday (there was an error in my SSN that took over a week to fix 🙄) and I already have that button. I got the "your app is complete" email on 1/11 so I don't think they would have made a decision in just 4 days 😕.

With that said I REALLY hope it's a good sign but I'm not getting my hopes up lol.

ETA: Looking at some old threads it looks like the glitch is on your "To-Do" list rather than under the View Decisions link. If you have the "Pay Deposit" in your to-do list, you're in.

I just checked my OPUS again on Emory out of curiosity and clicked on admissions decisions and got this:

On behalf of the faculty of The Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University, we are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted as a candidate for the MPH degree program in Epidemiology beginning in the Fall 2013 semester. We look forward to having you join our faculty, staff and students in promoting health and preventing disease locally, nationally and globally.

I never received an admissions email or anything, and I doubt they would post that on OPUS just as a placement, so I think I got into Emory?

Gah you are so lucky! I checked and there still isn't an update for me. I applied for Epi as well. Congrats! When did you apply?

Yup! You're in! CONGRATS! 😀

It said in an email that they would post the decision there before an email or anything was sent out.

My Emory decision was available on OPUS the instant I received the e-mail confirming that my application had been passed onto my department (HPM). There's obviously something wrong with their e-mail system. Or they are really screwing with us on the decision end. I applied on 11/21.

Thanks!

SOPHAS sent my application out 11/18, Emory received it 12/17, and I heard back today. Kind of a weird timeline!

Also, has anyone heard from UMichigan? I've sent them an email last week, and haven't heard back. I'm kind of waiting on them before I make any decisions!

Aw I saw the same link and I was super excited for all of 30 seconds.

UCLA emailed me today saying they are reviewing my application and should have all decisions sent out before March 1st.

xoromanticide: When I got into Emory (back in 2010) my pay admissions deposit link showed up before the actual decision letter. I clearly can't say definitively but more than likely you're in. Congrats! I loved my time there. Feel free to send me any questions you have.

Ja, feel free to PM me with any questions about the campus or surrounding area, I live right off the campus.
